Problems with the Equinox
No Mas Equi-NOT

United States

I was online googling the most recent problem with my Chevy Equinox (or as I like to call it the Equi-NOT) when I stumbled upon this page. It was nice to know that I’m not the only person who seems to have problems, but somewhat troubling to see how many people seem to have the same problems. Chevy needs to wake up and do something. People are not going to even getting another Chevy after having such a bad, expensive, inconvenient experience with the Equinox. Who’s going to bail them out then?! I can honestly say I will never buy another Chevy. I don’t want to take any chances. Fool me once same on you (Chevy), Fool me twice shame on me. The Equinox has already given me enough shame to last the rest of my life. every time I break my car shakes like crazy and makes an embarrassing noise. The noise alone is embarrassing but even worse, I look like I’m having a seizure because the steering wheel shakes my entire body. I have been told it’s the brake pads. My Cd player also broke. Now I am constantly reminded of how the Equinot is a POS . I saved the best of the problems I have experienced for last. Last summer while driving down the interstate it started to rain. I took the proper precautions and slowed down. I was in the far left lane. I had a school bus to my immediate right (middle lane) and a pickup truck was next to the bus in the far right lane. All of the sudden my car feels like it died. The next thing I know I am hydroplaning across all 3 lanes and my car is spinning to the far right lane. I slammed into a guard rail and was facing oncoming traffic when I came to. I still don’t know how I didn’t hit the bus or the truck but I didn’t. Thank god! My friend came to get me since 3 cops drove by and not a single one stopped to help. I was in shock and wanted something with caffeine to drink so she stopped at a gas station. The dude working said he saw the accident on his way to work and asked if that was me. The next question he asked was whether or not I was driving an equinox. He then continued to tell me that he almost rented one when on vacation the previous month but didn’t because an employee at the Rental Car Company said they have problems with hydroplaning and pulling to the right. So until I get a new car I will always drive in the far right lane. I got lucky but Chevy needs to start doing recalls or warning people about this. Anyone looking to buy a Chevy Equinox, be sure to continue paying for Onstar after the first year. You will probably need it.

We are having trouble with our 2008 Chev Equinox. The radio quit working about three months ago, along with the clock, and the sound for the turn signals. We have gotten the turn signal noise back and the Onstar but it has intermittenly gone off. The radio stations have never come back on. When the clock goes back on, and Onstar the Aux. plug works so that we can use our Sirius radio.

Right now, nothing is working!

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
