Update.
New body control module seems to have fixed it. Just wish I didn't have to week nearly three weeks for the part to be shipped from who knows where. Thank you Government Motors!!!
I have the same issue. Can you tell me which body module you replaced?

I have a 2006 Equinox and I too have had a problem with the key sticking in the ignition and the key wont turn so I cant start the dayum car!! Went online and typed in "2006 Equinox key wont turn" and tons of websites popped up where people were reporting the same problem on various years of Equinoxes! I emailed Chevy and called then and reported the problem as I was told that if it's not "officially" reported to Chevy then a recall will never be issued for what is clearly a widespread problem for people and clearly a defect in manufacturing that SHOULD BE RECALLED and repaired at NO EXPENSE to the owner!!! Please - if you have an ignition lock problem with your Equinox (key getting stuck, key won't turn etc)please either email Chevy here: http://www.chevrolet.com/pages/mds/helpcenter...
and report the problem or call Chevy Customer assistance at 1-800-222-1020 and report it! The ONLY WAY the Chevy will be forced to acknowledge the problem and take financial responsibility for it is if we all take the time to report it! Even if you've already had to pay yourself to fix the ignition lock/key problem - if enough people officially report and it gets recalled you will be reimbursed for the repair as long as you have the receipt or can get a copy of the receipt from your service person! I can't say it enough: Please report this problem to Chevy!

I have a 2005 Equinox and been having the problem with the key not turning...I can't afford to get it fixed...I checked on line and did find a recall for the 2005 Equinox for the key not turning problem...I called a GM mechanic and he said my SUV is not included in that recall...I then called GM directly and the representitive told me that only a few vin numbers of that year SUV were recalled but not mine...What kind of BS is this...You can see by all these post that other 2005's have that problem...but they won't do anything about it and I'm screwed and can't get my SUV out of my driveway....I will never buy another GM for the way they treat their custormers...This is a problem they made and they need to pay for it.

I have called the GM customer service line mentioned above and he is in the process of setting me up with a dealer for a diagnostic. he said that GM will follow up with the dealer to see what the diagnosis is and whether or not it is a defect. I will try to remember to post back when I get an answer.

I just purchased a 2007 Equinox (2/17/07) and had no problems for the first 4 days. Then yesterday, the turn signals wouldn't work and the windshield washer also wouldn't work. I took it immediately to the dealer and while they were checking it out, everything started working. They also discovered that the high beams and emergency flasher also wouldn't work. When I left work in the afternoon, the same thing happened so I was on my way to the dealership and they started working again. Same scenario this morning, except in addition to all of the above, the radio stays on even when the car is shut off and I open the door (it should shut off automatically when the door is opened). So it is back at the dealership this morning. Luckily for me my sister-in-law is the General Manager at the dealership so I have confidence that I will get good service.
Did you get your problem fixed? I have an 06 equinox that will kill the battery overnight if I don't pull the radio fuse...

Looking for the module that shuts the radio off. It stays on even when car is off and keys are out of ignition. Two weeks ago, the driver side door lock stopped working via keyless. Looking for module or maybe a connection between the two that my be electrical.

It rained last week end on the way to the Bay Area turned the wipers on to low speed on the 2008 Equinox and they did not work. This car is only 3.5 years old and the wipers quit. Went to the Chevy dealer Monday and they told me it was out of warrantee, and would cost $145 for them just to look at the car so they could give me an estimate to repair the problem. Aren't the wipers part of the safety equipment on a car? Why does GM ignore they have a problem with the cars when they has a TSB on the issue on the 2007 model. Wiper work on high and intermediate settings.

I have a 2007 Equinox. I have had problems since the first few weeks...Battery died on me had to have it jumped many times. The headlights would burn out, when they are supposed to last long. I had to replace a fuse once too. I had the water coming into the car, carpet as soaked and finally they found all of the problem after 3x sealed it all up i asked for a new carpet they gave me it...just lost alot of day with car had to ask for rides. Not fun. After this fiasco I said ahhh Im good now and I was happy but..NOW I have been hearing strange wooshing noises(like something is rubbing against something) from the electric steering wheel when I make a turn...I am wondering if my electric power steering is going? Yikes no warranty anymore 3yrs was up last year...Also has anyone bought extended coverage from reputable company?

If anyone has power steering issue it is almost definitely the 80 AMP megafuse. It is located under the hood in the fuse box. The mega fuse looks more like a relay. Some people when jumping or boosting confuse fuse panel terminal with battery that can cause this megafuse to malfunction. Found this on the internet when my wife's went out. Easy and cheap fix except I think you have to order the $15 part from a chevy dealer.

Help!!! I have an 07 equinox and the radio doesn't shut off when the car is off and the door is open. Right before this started happening, the remote wouldnt work for the drivers side door. I had to replace a battery that went bad because of this. If anyone knows what this may be to save me a 150 diagnostic fee, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!
