Chevrolet Leads U.S. Passenger Car Sales

Chevrolet led all automakers in U.S. passenger car sales in 2011 and posted its largest year-over-year retail sales increase in 35 years, due in large part to strong sales of the Cruze compact sedan.

Interesting that in Canada, GM is number two---Ford is the top seller here.

I thought this thread would get more participation. Just a few years ago many "experts" in the auto media and even posters on this site were saying GM market would drop to 13 or so percent. Not so.

It is indeed good to hear that an iconic US carmaker is now doing so well.
Probably the reason the thread isn't getting too much attention is because it's common knowledge.
This news has been all over the media lately.

Huge excitement about what is being called the resurgence of the auto business.
Two new cars are in the spotlight just now...
Chrylsler's new Dart.
Toyota PriusC.
Also--Hyundai got Car Of The Year.
