I posted a comment on "Vibration" Topic for Chevy Impala (originally under Disgruntled Owner - now under marcha). I had a 2006 Impala LT and it was in service 29 times in 3 years. Just as I was about to make my last payment and my problems were STILL NOT FIXED after 3 years of driving a lemon, I decided to get a new car - unfortunately I made the mistake of buying ANOTHER Impala and was PROMISED THE DEALER WOULD "TAKE CARE OF ME IF I HAD THE SAME ISSUE". That has yet to be seen. My car is in AGAIN for the SAME ISSUE - Tires wearing unevenly, shimmy at high speeds, excuse after excuse from Service saying that I MUST HAVE HIT POT HOLES AND CAUSED THE ALIGHMENT TO GO OUT - BULL...Their service sucks and the cars are even worse. I am hoping to get this car replaced under the lemon law and WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER AMERICAN CAR AGAIN!!!!

I like AMerican trucks / SUV's. Well, I like all types of vehicles. I'm just glad to see all the many choices for consumers. It's a win win situation.

I also have a post for the same problem for vibration problem on Chevrolet Impala on this website. I was informed by Goodyear, and GM's Mr Goodwrench the only thing they align on these cars now is the toe. They told me they nolonger align the campber or other parts due to the new design of the subframe, suspension, and front end components. The alignment excuse they are giving you is BULL. When GM replaced my subframe and steering shafts, the only thing they aligned after the installations was the TOE. No other alignment is needed on this design. Looks to me like the same excuses from the NEW GM like the excuses they gave many customers at the OLD GM. This is why many of GM's longtime customers have gone to other brands and refuse to buy GM again.

I will buy another American Car but will go to FORD instead next time. FORD is going to overtake GM sometime next year in sales. GM is going to futher decline and their market share will not stay stable. There is new competition coming to America from China and GM's market share is unsustainable. The government bailouts are just a temporary fix for the ongoing problem GM is facing. GM is facing worldwide competion.

I also had problems with a transmission on a 2003 Honda Accord EX at 63,000 miles. This proves Honda does not always get it right either. There are also many consumers complaining about Honda transmissions on the internet as well.

I have to agree with you.GM not so much anymore.
But I do wish them the best and want them to succeed.

But I would never buy another GM car again after the mess with my old Cobalt SS\SC.

Right now Ford quality is way better and starting to take over all the ranking .

Example : F series truck of the year
Ford Fushion is the number one seller for 2009

Ford is just better right now and I believe that wont change.

Motor Trend Magazine has just announced the 2010 Fusion will be the car of the year for 2010. The Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln MKZ all share the same platform, and are based on the Mazda 6 platform. Ford kept it's partnership with Mazda. GM dumped their partnership with ISUZU, and Chrysler got rid of Mitsubishi. GM and Chrysler have made poor decisions here.

The 2010 Taurus has styling that resembles the Ford Fairlane and Galaxy of the 1960's. Look at the rear taillights of the new Taurus and you will see the resemblence.

HAVE YOU DRIVEN A FORD LATELY?

My father had GM Durastop ceramic brake pads installed on his Cavalier. The warranty was for the lifetime you owned the car. When my dad had problems with his brakes again, he went to the nearest GM dealer. The dealer told him he had to go back to the selling dealer of the pads for the free replacement per the terms of the warranty. The original selling dealer is now out of business, and he has no warranty. How is that for customer satisfaction guaranteed at GM? The brakes had to be replaced again and my dad had to pay for it. Some of GM's warranties suck.

A lot of GM's dealers closed during the bankruptcy reorganization, and alot of other people will also be having these warranty problems as well.

I would not buy anything from GM designed or made in the States. Maybe an Opel or a Holden.

Holy! Do you work for GM? Sure sounds like it! My 2006 Chevy Equinox is LOADED with problems starting from the first 3 months of owning it back in 2006.

1) My windows did not roll up or down 3 months after I bought the car.
2) My ignition rolls over only once in awhile
3) My heater door broke and doesn't defog and it is extremely cold it is in the winter! A $1800 Bill!
4) My car started leaking and inches of water covered the floor of the car. And you know what, the dealership told me? The sealant was NEVER ACTUALLY PUT IN!!

So I think YOU should get off your high horse...... GM makes LOW quality cars to save themselves money. They don't care about the consumer and as for the statement, "Satisfaction Guaranteed?" It's a load of crap, GM has not done ANYTHING about the above problems.

Next time, I'm buying a European car.
