maybe to a point.
But they way I look at it.

GM really needs some help in the quality dept.
So thats why I said to the topic.

Cant put GM and Satisfaction guaranteed in the same sentence.(Have not shown that to me anyways being a ex owner of a Cobalt SS\SC)
And there are other that would agree.

I can only offer my experience, if yours differs then fine. In my case my Honda is far, far better than the GMC I had previously. No car manufacturer is perfect, some do have a better reliability record (and higher re-sale values) than others though....

The only guarantee of satisfaction is in one of the massage places here in Bangkok. I doubt GM can compete with that. would never buy anything from GM, unless it was a Saab and they don't own them anymore.

One thing I can say being a ex-cobalt owner.
I dont think to much good of Saab after GM destroyed its name.
But they did make a good car before the take over.

I believe Saab is back in sweden again, but I could be wrong(rumor has it) I thing they will go back to there old way and make a quaily car again.
GM=Death to a lot of good car companys and its pretty sad.

So GM and Satisfaction guaranteed dont go together to well in peoples eyes.

BTW If you didnt know the Cobalt SS is about 50+% GM made Saab parts.

The Cobalt is getting one hell of a bad rep on GM part.

I think one of the biggest mistake GM made this year is dropping Saturn.
Saturn was about the best quality car they made and has a big following.

no more new Saturns, GM will feel that.

I'm surprised to see GM and Ford knocked off Camry and accord on dependability.

My 95 beretta is still with me. Being 14 years old, it runs ok. A few minor problems, but nothing drastic.

Koenigsegg bought Saab, but the brand has been pretty much destroyed by GM. I had two Saabs in the 80s and early 90s and I agree, they were not the most dependable cars....:)

Consumer Reports rated GMC in the bottom half of the reliability rankings. Appears GMC has a long way to go, but it faired better than Chevy.

I guess if you want a reliable GM product, then you'll have to get a V6 Malibu, eschew the 4-cylinder as that wasn't ranked as well.

“family sedans from domestic carmakers continue to beat the reliability scores of such highly regarded Japanese models as the Camry and Accord," said David Champion, senior director of Consumer Reports' Automotive Test Center. The last domestic sedan that had better reliability than the Camry and Accord was the Buick Regal in 2004, he noted.”

Transaction prices for Chevrolet now exceed that of Toyota.
