Has anyone had problems with their paint peeling? My paint is falling off on my wheel wells, bottom of passenger front door, below the back window and some random places. I took it to a body guy today and said he has never seen paint peel like this on a 6 yr old car.

Hi all I have a 2005 Equinox with paint peeling real bad . It just started this spring and found out from others that 2005- 2006 had paint issues . Live in a town of 22000 and have seen 8 others with same peeling problems, thats only watching for just one month. Been to the dealership and they have seen quite a few to. Everyone with this problem needs to keep talking to the manufaturer. Body shops all say it is a manufacture problem. Don`t try to fix it unless you get it done properly , it will keep peeling.Ned anymore information you can contact me at tazmcqueen@bmts.com Goodluck all....

My daughter has had the same peeling problem, she has a 2006 equinox. She also has extended warranty on her vehicle and guess what ......the paint isn't covered. If there is a petition online for this crap I would sign it in a heart beat.

I've also got a big paint peeling problem. It started a couple of years ago and when I took it to the dealership, they just advised it was because I travel on some gravel roads. This paint is now peeling from everywhere, not just around the wheels. I lose more every car wash that I do.

Let's keep in touch and see if there are more of us out there!!

I own a 2006 Equinox and the paint is bubbling and peeling off under rear window. Chevrolet will charge me $112.00 just to diagnose, which by the way means we don't cover paint. I'll sand, prime, spray and coat and if I have to - repeat. It's still cheaper than buying a new car. Chevrolet is definately off the need to have list.

I have an 06 Equinox (bluish greenish color) and the paint is chipping on the passenger side rear door as well. Haven't had it looked at because i'm scared of how much they are going to want to charge to fix it.

Haa, thanks I thought I was alone with this issue. I have a small area on the nose of the hood which looks like egg splat where the clear coat is failing. Like the driver above its original color is teal.

Yes unfortunately the Chevy Junk-equinox,I have been complaing about this vehicle about this problem and a recall should have been Issued for it's owners a long time ago.Eventually it will rust, but chevy does not care wants me o give me a coupon of $2500 to buy another one of these peeled lemons.if all alaimants bond together we may be able to get class action lawsuit!!! a 2005 chevy equinox 6 years old with 72,000 miles...

Haven't checked this post in a while. Chevy wouldn't help me. I felt like I was driving a big old piece of crap! my other older cars haven't looked like this even at 10 yrs. My awesome boss had it fixed for me at our company shop 7 hours away! It looks way better and hopefully will hold up. They just fixed the problem areas but I can't complain since it didn't cost me anything.

I always check out other Equinox's to see if they have the same problem and I have only seen one other one. I know 2 people with 05's and one is red the other silver, the red is fine and the silver is just starting to peel on the back tailgate. Mine is black and starting peeling 3 years ago.

i love the vehicle other than the peeling paint, fuel economy and starting issues (have to hit gas when vehicle is warm or it won't start)

06 equinox I have the same problem all over the car. Took it to a paint place and its no worth just fixing all the paint places where it has peeled off. 1800 cash to paint whole truck and i'm getting it done because it looks like a piece of junk. Because you drove on dirt roads from what others posted, "Come on". How do you explain all the paint missing from where the mirrors meet the body, nothing could possibly hit that area. Never in the rest of my life nor will i let my three children buy a GM vehicle.

I have a black "05 Equinox and my paint is peeling around the wheel wells, rear doors and on the back under the window. I took it to a bodyshop and they couldn't believe that it was peeling that bad. I've also been experiencing real crappy gas mileage. I've replaced everything you can think of except the fuel filter, that's next on the list. I wish GM would open their eyes and realize they have a serious problem with the Equinox.

Hey Matt. Any idea when GM-Canada might recall the 2005 Equinox for the PCM issue. My car is horrible on gas and sometimes it doesn't want to start without putting my foot on the gas pedal. I have talked to a local GM dealership in the US to see what it would cost to do this on my own. The cost is $414 for the PCM and $135 for programming and labor. The cost would be much higher if done in Canada. Thanks.
