C5 Lack of Reliability

I have trouble believing that my 2004 Corvette has standed me twice in two years (and 2400 miles). The 1st stranding was a tire failure and all that the Chevy 800 emergency number could do was to offer to "send someone out to put the spare on"
(Of course, there is no spare)
The 2nd standing is today - my 2 year old - always trickle charged - battery failed and left me stranded again..
Does Chevrolet think that people will buy a $50k car that has less reliability than a Hyundai ???

You are complaining about issues that do not have anything to do with reliability. Lack of knowledge from customer service, I would agree with that. If you can spend 50K on a car than you can spend money for a good battery and AAA...

The battery in my '90 vette only lasts 2-3 years. Have it tested every 2 years. Once they die in these cars they don't take well to jump starts as the electronics place a heavy drain on the weak battery. Seriously tire and battery problems are chicken shit problems, the c5's (and earlier vettes)can have worse problems than this. These cars are built for speed and to a price point. If the battery/tire mishaps bother you this much then get a new Lexus.

Sold at 20,000mi on odometer...

My daily driver 1998 C5,(delivered new 8/97) is on its 2nd Delco battery - installed under warranty in 2000. That's 7+ years and it starts on the button every time, even after standing for weeks on end. The problems that Z06 owner reported should have been fixed under warranty, given the car only had 15k on it, with a 3 year warranty. Mine had multiple "early" warranty issues, but has been totally reliable since then.

And yes, I will buy another one.
