How is a pushrod 8.4L V10 innovative outside of the variable cam timing (which isn't all that innovative anymore)? The car is a brute force wonder but is hardly innovative.

The Vette HAS left the building....to the tune of over 40,000 per year. It sells 20x higher than the Viper. Viper is a novelty while the Vette is a true sports car for the masses.

Consumers haven't put the money down on the Viper as the Vette continues to outsell it by orders of magnitude.

So that means it's a worse car, right? This is the 2008 Viper, you're not going to see a gigantic shift in sales during the beginning of the slightly-more-tamed road monster era. Point in fact; The 2008 Viper is closer to the price of the Corvette, while being better in nearly every category for the first time ever, and it's far more exciting and "special" to drive.

Better in the performance categories but you won't see it ever post NVH and fuel economy figures like that of the Vette. It's a snorting monster of a car, but it lacks refinement....maybe by design.

Kinda split for me.

I had a Chevrolet Corvette and I now have a Dodge Viper. So yes, belive it or not I had both of em'. I think the Viper is a force to be reckoned with and it's under Dodge wich gives is a pretty good name, However, the Corvette has a good run and still is one of the better cars out there. I see more Vettes than Vipers out there ya know.

Now I know for a fact The Vette beats the Mustang, but VS. The Viper...It's sooo damn close.

Yikes...the people have spoken and the Corvette is the winner. Chrysler just announced plans to close the Connor Ave. facility where the Viper is built within 4 years.

The Viper is a far harder-edged, more narrowly focused machine than the Vette and also is substantially more expensive and limited in production. The Viper was never meant to outsell the Vette.

The Viper is a truely outstanding car, and I would take one over any British or Japanese import anyday. The Corvette is a Legend, you cannot compare a Viper to a Corvette, or a Ford GT, but compare them to their rivals such as Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, ect...

I have a DODGE MAGNUM, and my fiance has a KIA Sedona. MY DODGE IS GREAT.

Anywho, I think that germans make the Porsche 911 Turbo, because they are NOT worried about what a Vette would do, I think they are more concerned about Ferrari,Bugotti-Veyron,Lamborg hini etc.

Then again, Vette has ALREADY beaten Bugotta-Veyron!
