Seems to me you have it backwards there son. The viper was/is a poor attempt to compete against the vette. It rides like a brick, is about as comfortable to drive as a 66 VW Bug, and the only out-performing it does is on a straight road with no bumps. And if you've ever driven one and had it up to 160mph, you'd see how clunky the viper really is. Compare the price of the vehicles and you may consider the vette an over priced has been but the viper is an even higher priced never-will-be.
