It seems more recalls exist then are listed on these web sites. 2009 Chevy Colorado, Water gets into "some engine sensor module" and shorts out computer. This causes engine to quit and leaves you without power brakes/stearing. As I drive mountain roads in a very soggy state[Oregon] this is a concern. Dearler admitted their is a recall. Dealer [Carr Chevrolet of Beaverton OR] arranged rental car in interrim and is working the issue. I hope this is not the first drop of lemon juice. I have 12000 miles on this truck and it has been ok except for the fact that every sensor appears to be failing from seat belt/air bag to check engine.

Too many problems with my 2004 Colorado Z-71 Club Cab 4wd. So far: 3 U-joints, 3 Oxy. sensors, 2 speakers, 2 wheel hub/bearings, 3 blower mtr resistors, 2 gas caps. Have to put fuel inj. cleaner in because the throttle body gets gummed-up. Always getting a check engine light. You have to pull hubs and brake sensors to replace front rotors, what drunk engineer designed that? THIS TRUCK IS A PIECE OF S!!!!. Bring back the S-10!

My husband has a 2004 Colorado and the 4 wheel drive is out of it. The service man said its common with the Colorado and its over $5000 to fix. Its been a lemon from the time he bought it 2 years ago. He has had to replace the gas cap. He had new brakes put in and the brakes still squeek. He is ready to let the bank repo his lemon

I have a 2004, have replaced the heat resistor, and connecting harness (melted). Two blown speakers, and now have 2 dead power windows.
No of which is covered under warrantey.
I liked the look of the truck, but am looking back to Ford in the future.

The tail lights have seperate fuses for each side and some of the dash lights are on these circuits. replace the fuse and all will work.

I have a 2005 colorado, it has 94,000 miles only problem I have with it is replacing the front rotors. I dont know what GMs engineer were thinking but it is one of the worst designs I have ever seen. All the work you have to do just to replace the brakes. Seems to me GM just wanted people to bring the truck back to the dealership to have it fixed.

Colorado, by far the most troublesome truck chevy ever built. Many, Many, known defects in the design and manufacfturing of these trucks, and chevrolet will not address them! These trucks should have many recalls for many issues.
BAD TRUCK!
GM deserves what it is getting! It will not survive!

I have a 2009 colorado. Bought it July 2009 and have had a couple problems already. First was the A/C blower control switch going out. One day it would only blow through defrost no matter what way I turned the directional control. Brought it to the shop, fixed it. A few months later I got in the truck to leave work and it cranked, rolled over, then killed. I had to sit and wait for a tow truck and drive a rental for a week to get the FUEL PUMP fixed. REALLY?? FUEL PUMP? I didnt even have 8,000 miles on it yet! Also, when the brakes get a little wet, the front discs slip while the rear drums almost lock up. What kind of crap is that??

Bought 04 Colorado new.
I have put 143,000 miles on it.
Had a head job and first set of brakes done at 133,000 miles. Head job was done because of a burnt exhaust valve. Service done every 3 to 4 thousand miles. Have tires rotated and balanced every other time. Got 102,000m miles on Michelin tires and still gpoing.
Security system just quit.
This is my biggest complaint that it can go out without any warning where ever you are.
