Got a 95 cavalier and wrecked 97. The 95 needs lower end. Will the 97 either short or long block work in the 95?
Both 2.2 VIN 4. Everything looks same as far as I can tell...... any reasons why it WOULD NOT work?
Thanks

yes it will work. All vin 4 motors will work. I interchanged a 96 block which is the first year they came with roller cam into a 92 for a friend of mine. the only difference in the each model 2.2 non ecotec is the internal parts.

you need the following:
*PCM
*all the underhood wiring
*top mount (all other mounts are the same
*all of the coolant lines
*radiator
*throttle cable
*cruise cable (if you have cruise)
*fuel lines from tank to motor
*evap lines
*BCM from 2000+ j-body
*all of the internal (cabin) wiring
*instrument cluster
*complete airbag system

that's just what I know off the top of my head. basically, everything but the suspension, body, and interior carpet, headliner, seats, dash and plastics.
shouldn't have an issue with the exhaust except you'll need the exhaust mani for the Ecotec.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
