American and Canadian industry relocating to Mexico (and other countries) isn't going to cease any day soon I'm afraid.
And you're right--it doesn't help our respective North American economies much.
Until we can collectively get more competitive in our own back yards, it's the way of the future.
Furthermore, we cannot continue to expect our Governments to 'protect' us forever, nor can we continue to simply wave the 'Buy American' flag without making some sacrifices in how we ourselves can contribute to our economies.
Unfortunately its not just the manufacturer, its peoples own innate laziness that has allowed this movement to continue to spread. Such as "I dont want to pay more than $2.00 for 30 pairs of socks." That and unions really need to step away and go where they are needed. Back in the 1920s and such yeah, workers were mistreated and didn't get what was rightly theirs. But there is no reason someone working in a factory of any sort should be getting paid 85.00 an hour. If you want that much money go to school and get a degree, you know, where maybe you deserve that kind of money.GM dug their own grave and they should have been left for dead, because again, it was through their own poor decision making skills that they went broke. Even if they hire 10000 new people it isn't going to make up for what theyve done and what they continue to do.

Pure stupidity-

I suppose you didn’t take any economics, finance, or accounting courses did you? Further, one must conclude you really have no grasp of trade policy as well.

instead of insulting and just calling everyone else a tard why don't you explain if you know so much about it? What exactly has walmart done to help the american economy grow other than a small percent who own controlling shares
? What have unions done for the automotive industry other than shift production to the south where there are no unions? Why do you think nissan and kia and toyota and bmw all build cars in the south? And futhermore what does building a chevy truck in mexico do to help people in detroit who got laid off? I guess they'll just pack up and head south huh?
