It's Camaro vs. Mustang

There are 29 comments on the Detroit Free Press story from Jun 4, 2010, titled It's Camaro vs. Mustang. In it, Detroit Free Press reports that:

It's Camaro versus Mustang, and the fight is on like Beatles versus Stones. But unlike the tired brouhahas the baby boom insists on revisiting -- do we really need to debate Vietnam, women's rights or the Voting Rights Act ever again? -- the pony car battle is as relevant as last month's sales report and Ford and GM's next quarterly earnings.

I have a 65 Fastback GT. I have and always will be a Ford man, and have always loved the mustang. I have owned five of them, but the 65 is my favorite!

The Camaro looks like a cheap cross between a Challenger and a Mustang. I doubt gubamint motors will sell too many of those POS.

Right now they are, but they'll never catch up with the mustang, and sales will drop off once all the suckers are suckered.

2011 Mustang 5.0 GT has over 400 horsepower and gets 26 mpg. The SYNC system Ford has blows away anything in the Camaro. The aluminum block they use is the same one that Ford Motor Racing puts a blower and other goodies on that pushes over 800 horsepower. Mustang is without question the most successful car model ever in the history of cars, and Ford continues to make it better!

I just want to set the record straight. Chevy engines are the best in NASCAR!! The most winning engine in todays racing world!! As far as I can understand the history of this even back in the early sixties NASCAR forced GM to sell a 427cu. racing engine to ford so they could tear it down and learn how to make their engines more competitive in racing. When the 2010 CAMARO came out it was more faster then any production mustang made at that time. You have to remember that the Corvette's technology was use in its engines which ford could never beat. Ford could never top the corvette in any class of test!!! Even with the V6 the Camaro out classed the mustang. Its as though GM had to show ford how to build a better Mustang. For the 2011 mustang they copied everything that chevy put into the 2010 CAMARO. From the cowl induction hood to the pirelli tires, 400hp engine, six speed transmission, Brembo bakes, etc. The one person that helped Ford was Iacoca back in the sixties by telling mustang builders to make the mustang appealing to women!! I'll bet you that 1/3 of the mustangs sold in todays market are bought buy women. Gm has always set the standard for automobiles throughout the world for at least 50 years. Of course we know today they lost everything they had built because they were too big making 65 models that were reduntant and so the Japaniese gained the lead in technology. I doubt if GM will ever recover from their mistakes of being a world leader in todays car markets.

To all you Camaro freaks, Really? for one thing you can't compare your ss camaro to your buddy's v6 mustang, doesn't really work like that now if you wan't to compare both, ss, 400 hp, gt,350 thats what, 50 hp give or take a few horses, now all you gm freaks take your stats from speed channel's motor trend segment, and they test these cars at race tracks and controlled environments, they only tell you what they want you to hear and thats all, now how much is a ss 43,45000, gt 36,38, now if im going to buy one i weigh the options, and to me 50 hp isn't worth another 10,000 smackers gimme the gt anyday cuz last i checked speed limit was only 70
