Our van will stay at a higher idle after accelertating. Like in stop and go traffic, this makes the brakes work harder and gives us about 13 MPG for around town. I just replaced the injectors with the newer spider type. After cruising speed and releasing the throttle to go down a hill the engine will not return to low idle, but when I shift to neutral it will drop to low idle. Any ideas?

it is your throttle position sensor or idle position sensor or both have it coded to find out which one hope this helps

I also have this problem on a '97 Astro and would like to know if you have found an answer. I had an '89 Cadillac Deville that did this and it was an idle speed control motor. Not sure if the astro has one.
