I have a 95 astro and the hood release cable snapped. Any idea how to get the hood popped? I guess I can remove the 2 bolts that hold the release mechanism by sliding a socket between the grill and hood...anyone know of any other method??

If the cable is really broken, I don't know how to help you but, the hood on my Astro sometimes won't open with the hood release. So I press hard on the hood in the center, this seems to releive tension on the cable so that the cable can work. Also, once you get it open, then lubricate the cable and lock mechanism - something I also need to do. Good luchk.
