I would much rather make a house call and do it myself than try and talk grandma through troubleshooting problems on her computer. I talk to folks who don't know where the Start button is on the PC or I tell them to restart their computer and they turn the monitor on and off.

Yeah, a friend of mine is constantly walking his sister through her computer difficulties and he just doesn't get it. This woman is one of the top rated neuro-surgeons in the country. To each his own particular skill, I guess.

My parents were hopeless when they got their first PC's. I had to constantly remind myself that they grew up and worked in the pre-computer age, where I was working on mainframes in the late seventies and came along as computer technology did. But they're both pretty good with them now.

lol i've been beside ppl that have done that, then when i power down their tower. they freakout because their screen goes black.

That's what I tell my customers. If everyone was good with computers I might have to get a real job. You know one of those you can't do in pajamas.:(

I miss the blinking lights, and the 300 baud TTY's, the 1/2" tape...
