Everyone predicted this would happen after our family members signed on for 3 years in Lansing. GM will employ new workers at the Spring Hill plant at lower pay while our Fathers and Mothers, Brothers and Sisters are stuck away from their families for 3 years... Dirty politics. I miss my Dad, and it's only been a week...

Yes...Considering GM now wishes it never created the Saturn program of workers being involved in everyday decisions, and does wish to go back to the "I'm the boss, you're the horse" mentality on the floor.
It does make sense for them to have done this to break up the Old Saturn workforce, and restart with new people trudging thru the day mindlessly taking a foreman's orders.
As well as retiring and giving buyouts to the higher paid workforce in lieu of a newer, younger less paid workforce.
I'm sure it crossed their minds...

Hi MD.
Sorry to hear about your dad being away from you. I know it was a hard decision for him to make and in the end he probably wanted the best for you/his family.

There was another option though that was available without the 3 year committment? For less money however for the move, and recall rights to come back.
It's too bad that new workers will have to take lower pay for doing the same tedious assembly line work our dads, and families before us have done.
We remember seeing new hires walk out at lunch, never coming back, When they were hired, they had heard for yeas 'how easy' the jobs were at the plant. They got a reality check and many quit on the spot.

If the SH plant reopen hopefully, you never know what might be proposed. Perhaps an offer to pay back the incentive money, and move back to TN. Never know.

Best to you and please keep in touch with dad, he misses you too :)

They will pay back the loan when people like you start supporting the company again, buy products, and start making a profit again.
If you were so worried about getting "your" money back, you'd be best to do a little advertising of the GM brands.

If you and other like you don't support, then you will never see a return on the investment of your money. It is fairly simple isn't it?

Put out a product that is cheap, runs for many miles or at least until you get it paid for and maybe the American people could support GM.

To many "other" auto co. puts out good, cheap cars. They run forever it seems. Now why would GM think we should just buy their product so the CEO's. president, or vice pr. and union and the auto workers keep getting their big fat checks?

Cut the pay for everyone that plays a role in GM and put out a decent product then we might want to syupport GM.

Why should I support a company that builds mediocre cars at best?

I love my Toyota. Did Toyota make the brakes or were they supplied by another company? My bet is that they were supplied by another company. Wonder if the unions had anything to do with sabotaging Toyota? Just something to ponder.

Nice try but Toyota and the rest don't use union shops. Most of their parts come from overseas. I hope your Toyota has the good brakes cause when that POS takes off on it's own, you're gonna need them.

Are you saying that Toyota has a supplier for its brakes? Now, could that supplier also sell brakes to GM? Be real careful how you answer that. I might already know the answer. LOL See, we aren't as stupid as you thought.

Well, apparently you are, because if you really knew, you'd understand how Japanese companies are structured. I'm not going into the details but this creates an almost exclusive supply base to the Japanese manufacturers.

Have you looked under the hood of American cars lately. I had to use metric tools on my American made PT Cruiser that was built in Mexico. My wife's Ford Ranger was a Mazda truck with Ford's logo on it.

Let's see

"American made PT Cruiser that was built in Mexico"........
"Ford Ranger was a Mazda"..........

I'm missing the point you haven't made.
