I have a 2008 Buick Lucerne, and my knee finally hit the round headlight switch one too many times, and it got pushed back into the dashboard.

I've tried to open up the under dash plastic cover to push the button back into place, but after removing the two visible bolts the cover won't budge. I'm afraid to force it for fear I'll break something (probably expensive)- any advice on how to get this thing off?

Thanks!

I started complaining just after I purchased my 2008 LaCrosse. In early 2011 I escalated my attack to get the lights fixed or the car replaced. Yesterday, at the direction of the District service manager, I return the car to the dealer for checkout. They offered no promise of help. Lo and behold when they called, stating they had found a new service bulletin which directs the reprogramming of the "Body". It has just been overnight but so far the improvment while not perfect, was astronomical. I am never out of dash lights for more than 5-10 seconds. and they are much brighter. I need more experience before I can state that this is a permanent fix.(Jan. 17, 2012)

Hi,friends
Any one has tried the suggestion of Carl
to solve our problem of the dashboard lights ?
He said there is a bulletin # 06-08-49-021A
for the replacement of the whole panel.
GM told me that such bulletin does not exist.
Are we stuck with our problem ?

Was playing cd while cleaning 2006 Buick Lucerne cxs. Key in ignition but motor was not on. Everything died after about 20-30 min. Now key stuck in ignition and even after jumping battery under the hood (not under seat) car still won't turn over. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

simply use a medium flat-head screwdriver to pop off the end-cap of the dash, left of the steering wheel. just open your driver's door to see it. This cover is held in place by four integrated clips. This gives you immediate access to easily slip your hand in to pop out the switch. When finished, just line-up the four clips and pop the cover back on. I just did this myself as my switch had popped loose and fell to the back of the dash. This method allowed me to re-install my switch.

I brought a 2007 Lecerne used with 51,000 miles. complete transmission failure. No sensor came on. I think it is a lemon, I am going to give it back. One income family can not afford the repai.

I bought a used 2007 Lucerne. The entry light does not go on when opening the drivers door. It will light from opening any other door or subsequent to using another door will light from opening driver's door. I believe it comes on if key is activated.
I see no visible mechanical sensors nor do I see anything pertinent in the Manual.
Can anyone explain this and offer a cure?
This sensor is located in the door latch it self, it is activated when the latch moves from open to close or closed to open. there is a door module that may need tested also

I bought a used 2006 Buick Lucerne cxs in 2008, and noticed right away
that I could not read the digital displays (DIC as well as radio) in normal daylight conditions. Dealer could not help, and said there were no recalls for this problem.
How can I network with other owners plagued by this same problem?

I have a 06 lucerene cxl one point I struggled with the same issue, I thought it was the censer, but it works fine now, I realized when it seems dime, it actually is on bright. I took the time to evaluate it in darkness and day light hrs.Found that when the censer turned the lights on and off, some times it just took longer than expected to change. When it did change, my instrument panel lights were on
bright in daylight time.It just took time to learn and study it.I learned that Mine is and has been working as it should. But it was a struggle to learn, it was a change from my "03" park avenue ultra twilight sentental system. Hope this helps, sorry if it does not.

I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne and I have no headlights. No low or high beams, turn signals either. The must be some relay that went out, I just don't know where it is? Can anyone help? The only thing I see online is for different cars and different fuse boxes.

I have just acquired a 2007 lucerne and just made a discovery. My dash lights go out in bright sun light. Thought it was associated with the sensor on the dash. I have no problem at night or most times when I crank in garage but as I get into the light they just go out. Put a black plastic bag over dash and drove around block with lights. Took it off and lights went out, put it back on and lights came back. Too early to tell but I plan to drive with dash covered. Email [email protected]

I came out of the store to find that my key won't turn the ignition in my 2009 Buick Lucerne. The steering wheel is locked but the key won't turn it. I turned wheel each direction, I pulled the key slightly out and tried three different fobs. The car starts with the remote start but cannot turn the key. What else can I try?
