I purchased a 2006 Buick Lucerne CXS in January 2006.
I have to agree with you, the guages are very difficult to see in the daytime. Buick could have the dash lights on during the daytime which may help. Otherwise the guages need a complete overhaul. There is no excuse for guages that are difficult to impossible to see in bright daylight. Overall my Lucerne is a great car.

Roy :
If we contact several owners of Buick Lucerne
we can exert pressure to Buick to solve this
problem.
How can we contact more owners ?

Agree on difficulty reading dash during
the day. Also feel Buick should have
rear camera or sensors on all Lucernes. It is impossible to see if a child is
standing behind the car. An accident
waiting to happen!!!

I had the dashboard panel replaced by a dealer in Florida and found no difference whatever. The lights still cannot be read during daylight hours. I too am ready to fight with Buick to make a correction.
My e mail address is Indinagift751@yahoo.com I'd like to hear from anyone with ideas.

My Lucerne dashboard lights are difficult to
read in the daytime and seem to be getting worse. There needs to be a recall...can't
read the DIC or odometer in bright sun.

I can't believe a company with Buick's reputation could let this problem exist for this long. I am really disgusted with the unreadabilty of the "dashboard" lights. Does anybody have a solution?

Buick people are arrogent. They say that I should learn to live with a faulty light system which the acknowlege is faulty. It is very dangerous because one tends to take his eyes off of the road and concenate on trying to read the instrument display. On a good system one needs only to glance at the instraments to absord the nedeed information. The Highway Transrtation Safety should recall these faulty vehicles.

Impossible to read the display in the daylight. This should be a relatively painless fix for Buick, IMHO, since they could just update the onboard computer to light up the display all the time the engine is running, not just when the exterior lights are used...

Problem with key not turning off and only going to the accesory position making it impossible to remove key from ignition. Our service department cannot get it to repeat and will not replace parts that could correct the problem

It’s very difficult to see the dashboard lights in the daytime, I’m sure Buick
would have no problem fixing this if they wanted to – what is their problem?
I thought they wanted to keep their prestige at a high level.
Otherwise I am very pleased with my 06 Lucerne CSX

Since I got no satisfaction from my BUICK dealer I called Buick Customer Assistance Center 1-800-521-7300 and explained my problem about the dashboard lights.
Buick said they will present the problem to their engineers and make the proper changes and
start a recall if warranted. So get on the phone report your problem, maybe we can get
them to do the proper thing.

I went back to my Buick Service Department with my complaint about the
problem of reading my instrument panel in the daytime . The service
department said they had to replace the instrument panel CLUSTER PER
BULLTIN 06-08-49-021A. They did this and the problem was fixed – they
said this was only for the early model LUCERN.
Now I am very happy with my 2006 LUCERNE CXS

I had the local Buick dealer do the Bulltin 06-08-49-021-(11/17/2006). This was done 02/28/2007 and was no notice in the lights being brighter. I don't know if the cluster panel was replaced. I have the 2007 Lucerne CXL.

I have 2007 Lacross, and have just notice that the lights (dash) cluster panel fade out after continuous driving. All panel lights are on and bright when the car is first turned on, but then disappear. I'll be contacting Buick on Monday morning to try and get the problem resolved. This car was purchased after my 2004 Buick Century developed two severe water leaks with only 34,000 miles and 4 weeks out of warranty. I'm becoming more and more disenchanted with the Buick products. Any suggestions anyone? apt915@optonline.net

Hi,friends
Any one has tried the suggestion of Carl
to solve our problem of the dashboard lights ?
He said there is a bulletin # 06-08-49-021A
for the replacement of the whole panel.
GM told me that such bulletin does not exist.
Are we stuck with our problem ?
Leo
