I took my 2003 Rendezvous in three or four times while it was under it's original 36,000 mile warranty and complained of a "growling" coming from the front wheels. The dealership said they could not "duplicate the problem and that they could find nothing wrong. Now the vehicle has 71,000 miles on it and we received the notification from Buick regarding the problem. We took the vehicle back to the dealer and they have now found the problem with the wheel bearing but it is no longer under warranty, so they won't pay. Any suggestions? Anyone else out theri with a similar problem?

Call the buick place and let them know. We had the same problem and had it fixed. It took a long time to recieve our reimbusrtment but my husband stayed on them and we fianlly got it. Good Luck!

I have a 2006 Poniac G6 that has 45,000 miles that is developing the front end noise. I thought this was a just in the 2002 cavilier we had which was a 2002. I had front wheel bearings replaced three times and one of those was noisy when I drove it out the door. My wife is a retiree from GM but the discount doesnt make up for the cost of repair

We have had several Buick Rendezvous' and they all required having the wheel bearings replaced. We now have a 2006 Rendezvous and it is doing the same thing (growling/humming noise coming from the front), except now the mechanics want you to get a wheel alignment which of course is not covered under warranty and won't fix the problem. I think GM is hiding the fact they are still having the same problems on this vehicle. Thank goodness it is a lease.
Anyone else having the same problems with their 2006?

My 2004 Pontiac Montana has the awd disable message lit up. Owner's manual said to turn key on, off, and back on to clear it. Wont work. Called ASE mechanic, who told me that he couldn't find any info on this and saw no service bulletins on it. I'm in 2 wheel drive with the light on, and can't find help on this problem. Can't affor a $100 diagnostic fee, and $65 per hour plus parts right now. Any help out there? Email replies please.

It's most likely the hub assembly. GM offered an extended warranty to some of their models (I know for sure the 03 Rendezvous is one of them)for the front assemblies up to 60,000 miles. Call GM to see if your vehicle is one of them.

I have just started having this trouble at 77k miles with my 2005. I'm looking to see where I can file the complaint to hopefully get the 05 and 06's included.

Took my daughter's '04 Aztek for a drive and noticed a slight noise. Took car to the dealer. They're putting a new front bearing in for free. I'm sure the company who made the bearing is paying for it.

miles: 47000

GM rocks.

Called the GM - Pontiac customer service line twice, and 2 seperate reps both checked the vin# & said there was no extended powertrain warranty. I asked one to verify with a manager, and they said any extension would show up on the vin #.

So I called the dealership where I bought it (grudgingly since they screwed both me & my brother over before) to see if they heard anything about it, and they immediately found that my powertrain warranty was extended to 5 years. The tech verified the wheel bearing was covered under it. Mine hit me at just over 3 years, and 42,000 miles.

I intend to get rid of this 2004 pontiac aztec real soon.

So, call the

I have a 2004 Rendezvous and a hum has begun in the fron suspension when in motion. The wheel bearings are suspect as GM replaced the front bearings in my Grand Am, no questions asked. Does anyone know if warranties are extended and how replacement request of the bearings was submitted.

I got the bearings replaced in my 2003 Rendezvous with just around 60k. GM sent a letter in the mail, which I took to a dealer. They covered it all. I'm still done with GM though.

took my 2003 rendevouz in Jan 2007 because of wheel noise. The dealership said it was just irregular tire wear in the rear tire. Had the car in for annual Pa inspection. Mechanic tells me that the front wheel bearing has been failing for months and needs replacement. was under 60,000 mi the first time. Now has 71,000 and is out of warrantee. and they charged $50 to tell me the tires were bad.
done with GM dispite the fact I have $2300 in earning from my GM card

ps: had a similar problem w/ my 1998 Bonneville but not until 114,000 mi

The issue is with the front wheel bearings. Did you hear noise from the front or rear? Did the dealership give you paperwork showing the mileage, your complaint, and the date? If so, I'd take it back to them. GM knows about the wheel bearings issue. It seems they will do their best to get out of paying anything. They had no choice in my case since I had the GM letter in my hand!

I have a 2002 Rndvz, just diagnosed with LF Wheel bearing assembly needing replacement as well as an oil pressure switch and muffler needed. I've seen posts that a letter from GM was received....any idea on how they came upon the letter? I'm in a new area and don't know the dealership here or a trusted mechanic. Going rate is $80.00 per hour.

just had the left front wheel bearing replaced on my 2003 Buick Rendezvous-39,651 miles. also had to have bushings replaced on both front wheels, front alighnment, 4 new tires. dealer and GM covered the bearing, not the other things.
my question: what would cause the front right wheel cover to get so hot it burns your hand when you stop the vehicle after driving it?

I own a 2005 Buick Rendezvous with 32,000 miles and have a bad front wheel bearing as well. The Buick dealer told me the warranty expired at 36 months, and I will have to eat it. This is the 8th GM car I have had MAJOR problems with, I will never buy another. This includes Chevy Pickup, 2 Vans and 2 Suburbans (Transmissions and Engines), Cadillac SLS (Head Gaskets), Pontiac Grand Prix and Grand AM(Transmissions). Does GM make any cars that actually work? NEVER AGAIN, GM SUCKS!
