My engine has a rod knocking, so I bought a new engine and now I can't seem to get my old one out of the car. I undone 5 of 6 Transmission Bolts. And I undone the left Motor Mount. Also did the two bolts on the back of the exhaust. I took of the starter and the alternator and the steering.. What else DO I have to take off before I can Lift the motor out of my car? Its driving me crazy.. "everyone that suppose to came and helped for some $ stood me up."

There are many reasons why it may run and die. is it a sudden kill or does it load up and chug then die?.. anything from an erg valve to a vacuum line to a fuel delivery problem could be at the bottom of that. I had and air to air valve doing that same thing in my 84 dodge b250. a 50 cent fix! The Dodge whould load up and chug to a stall.
I don't think your problem is electrical because it does start and runs at all. Check the obvious first. fuel filters, air filters make sure the exasust is clear. and look carefull at ALL vacuum lines. even a tiny crack can reap havock. Some up there SHAWN said get a chilton. Hays, Haines or any motor manual is better than guessing. They vary in technicality. Usually you can read chiltons at yoru public library. Personally I make a point out of owning a motor manual for ANY vehicle I own, they go with the vehicle when I sell it.

the reasson is inside the starter when you took it off there are the torque converter nuts that can only be access threw the starter hole and once all of them are off the exgaust should come off at the manifold all mounts are loose then thats about it try lifting it now to get at them to rotate the torque converter is out a socket on the crank shaft but a push rod knocking is really easy to fix just take the valve cover off and you will see the rocker arms are there you just need to unbolt them tack the push rods out and replace it with a new one,and put it back together.

well the trap door l'm not sure what you mean but to remove the fuel pump you have to get the gas tank down and disconnect the fuel wiring plug de pressurize the fuel lines and then disconect the fuel line do not mix them up and then on do the straps and the have a flat piece of wood under the tank with a jack suporting it,before undoing the straps completely then after disconection of all fuel lines you lower the tank to the ground and then your going to clean the dirt from the top of the tank then your going to remove the lock retainer band then your going to lift the sending unit out of the tank inside and attached to the send unit is the fuel pump and your going to remove the old one and then put it all back to gether and then your going to have a new fuel pump big job about five hours

Two straps hold the gas tank up.(Fuel pump is in tank). Remove the two fuel lines. There is a lock ring that holds the pump in. You can remove it with a screwdriver if you tap the ring.
