2003 Regal 150k miles--will it last? Completel new to Buicks....

My fiance's grandpa offered to sell her his 2003 Regal LS with 145,000 miles on it for $3000. It's in absolutely excellent condition, engine sounds and feels great when driving, looks immaculate, he's owned it since new and babied it along the way (he's a semi-retired pastor, so he's racked up a lot of miles visiting people).
My question is---how long do these cars last before becoming money pits? How many more miles can I expect to get out of it before having to sink of a ton of money into expensive repairs? Will the engine purr past 200k without major work?
I was originally looking at an old Volvo 850 that has the same miles and would take maintenance, but overall cost of ownership would be low because they can go well past 300k well-maintained...
Any advice greatly apprciated.

I have talked to some that have exceeded 200 and even 300 thousand miles with good care. I have a Buick Regal Grand Sport With 145,000 on it and runs like a rocket. The 3800 motor is one of the best motors on the street today
