Clearing Codes Not Good Enough -- Courant.com

Q. I have a 2003 Buick Park Avenue with 61,000 miles. At about 50,000 miles, the "check stability system" light came on.

I am going through a similiar experience, the system warning light has been going on about once or twice a week. The dealer wanted $300.00 plus to repair, but could not explain the reason for the problem. This car was ceritfied but do to expiration they refuse to fix it for free. That was less than 1000 miles ago and two delays in servicing the car on their part when it was still under warantee. I checked with another mechanic and he said that if it stays on, then there may be a problem. I read the manual for the car and there is little explanation. The service manager stated that it coordinated the ABS to prevent the car from spinning or sliding out of control. It is a little known feature and not on many cars. I am awaiting a call from their tech man, other wise I will pursue a dispute resolution process.
