collant recovery tank

collant recovery tank

I have an'05 X5 with 4.4. Pulled collant recovery tank due to leakage from beneath. 3 hoses all looked dry and the sender unit area looked dry also when I pulled the lead off. There is a peg on the bottom (pressure relief?) That points straight down and extends through a hole in the base when the tank is installed. I am wondering if that might be leaking while tank is under some pressure? Any insights?
