bmw x5 CLICKING noise

My '02 X5 started having this strange clicking noise - and my wife said she saw the engine light yesterday so when I checked the oil, it was really low...I added oil but the clicking is still there...should I worry or will it go away?

someone actually told me that it was the actuator in the throtte body..mines doing it too.
