BMW is a joke theirs styling hasn't change in decade same old boring style. My IS250 came with heated/air conditioned softest leather seats standard and tons of other standard features. everything on bmw is optional. My cousin bought a 328xi he had to bought it back to the dealer twice within the first 2 year with mechanical problem. i laugh at his ass hahahaha BMW crap. he swore he wouldn't buy another bmw in his life.
If you want to talk about styling then why did you spend so much money on a Lexus? Why did'nt you just buy a a regular Toyota for much less? After all, Lexus is nothing but an ugly, hyped-up Toyota.

Ive driven a new Camry with my girlfriend before she got her Ford 500 and Ive also driven a Lexus. I felt virtually no difference whatsoever in the Lexus' ride compared to the Camry's. The Lexus vehicles look exactly like any old regular Toyota model in nearly every way except for the logo. Look at a Camry and compare it to an ES350 and tell me they don't look different. By the way, BMW is an overpriced VW? LOL..How so? Audi is tied to Volkswagen. Not BMW. Besides, BMW was building engines long before Toyota was.

Let me jusy say one more thing...I have nothing against Toyota. I just don't know why anyone would wanna spend so much money on a Lexus when they can just buy a Camry or something with a leather interior, thats all. I'm a car guy, I like all makes, but I just believe that BMW is better in this category.

Ughh, from the outside the Lexus IS just feels and looks like a riced up Corolla, and from the inside looks just like any other boring Lexus. That's the thing these other companies don't understand; even if they can make a car that can beat BMW in a couple categories (for example 0-60 time, skid pad, etc), it'll never come close to *beating* BMW as a whole. Driving a BMW is an all-encompassing experience. Driving an IS is just driving a souped up, and small, Lexus.
I got a 2001 lexus IS 250 bought it used with 130,000, now its up to 280,000 miles NOT 1 problem! LEXUS ALL THEY WAY. I agree BMW;s may lokk beteer but when it comes down to relabilty and satisfaction the LEXUS WINS! HANDS DOWN

I've had my 3 series for nearly 6 years and have over 112,000 miles on it. In that time its only broken down twice. BMW's sometimes get a bad rap for reliablity, because the kind of people that buy BMW's are more inclined to complain about little things going wrong vs someone who buys a joe shmo car (honda, toyota/lexus, etc).

It's only broken down twice? I have an IS 300 with 198,000 miles and has never broken down. Good defense for buying a BMW, buddy.

My 86 bmw 535i has over 300 thousand miles with original engine and tranny, how many jap cars can meet that claim, uh!!
Umm Lexus can my mom has a lexus with 400k on it. I have a Bmw 3 and I wish I got a lexus instead. It is a more better car, cheaper to fix and to me the lexus handles better. I have had nothing but problems with my bmw and it is a 2007. the transmission went out, the water pump went out and also the air conditioner. I will never buy another bmw again only lexus. Who cares if toyota bmakes that car, the camry is even much better than the bmw when it comes to reliability.

Are you kidding me?? Here we go:
Lexus SC=Toyota Solara
Lexus LS=Toyota Avalon
Lexus LX=Toyota Land Cruiser
Lexus IS=Toyota Corolla
Lexus ES=Toyota Camry
And just so you know, the AWD GS was one of the least reliable cars, here:
“Toyota’s V6 version of the top-selling Camry and the four-wheel-drive V8 version of the Tundra pickup, both redesigned for 2007, now rate BELOW AVERAGE in the Consumer Reports predicted reliability rating. So does the all-wheel-drive version of the Lexus GS sedan. Accordingly, NONE of them makes CR’s “Recommended” list.”
Heck, I can just go on and on.
How can you say that Infiniti is bland though?? The Lexus is just as soulless as a whirlpool washing machine-yet they try to compare them to a European car. To be honest with you, I don't like Japanese cars or ANY KIND, their engine sounds are terrible and they are dreadfully ugly. I prefer my Boxster though, but since thats not whats at hand here, I will take a BMW.
THe lexus IS looks nothing like a corolla. It has its own looks that strange that you think it looks like that. But the corolla is more reliable than the bmw.

Umm.. That makes a lot of sense. If you enjoy driving ugly great handling cars, so buy a WRX.. Because even though its ugly, it will easily out accelerate AND out handle any standard BMW 3 series.
For the rest of us that like to drive performance luxury sedans, the IS350 actually looks half decent (unlike any of the recent BMWs) and out performs the 3's. I'm pretty sure that it handles a little worse than a 3 series, but if thats its only loss, then it still is a superior package.
Far far better build and material quality, better performance, better looks
versus
Slightly better handling and styling that will turn heads (the other way, lol)
Hmm.. doesn't take a genius to figure this one out.
I think you are missing a few things here... first you must recognize that Lexus and BMW are two different things. This is like comparing strawberry and vanilla milkshakes. They are both sweet but there are a few things that they excell in and the people that buy these brands do so because thats their "taste". Although a wrx can out perform a 3 series in a streight line and marginally in the twists, 3 series buyers also seek the comfort, convenience, and "extra thought" the 3 series offers that the wrx simply does not have. Keep in mind that BMW really doesn't put much of a performance emphasis on 3 series sedans until you reach trims such as the 330i and 335i. the 335ix will definately give the wrx a run for its money. Lexes however offers something BMW doesn't have, which is a higher reliability. BMWs aren't terribly unreliable like a Merc. but they are definately no Honda. Lexus in my opinon, offers a more affordable luxury with more reliability than a bmw. But when comparing things like interiors, chassis design, and technological know how, bmw outclasses lexus. if youre tastes are for a lexus youll get a lexus, and if they are for BMW, same thing.

My BMW 2006,330i,was cheaply made. This car has only 44,000 miles, was costly $43,000, and the workmanship is GARBAGE! My extended warranty and my towing is useless. BMW closed for two days, battery dead and had to take the car somewhere else for a battery. Towing will only cover if you take it to BMW. It doesn't matter if BMW is closed for two days or a week, sorry you are out of luck. The warranty covers nothing, nada, zilch, zero. Got new tires because the crappy Run Flats died. Lights popped up (one was because I got new tires and the other light was an air-sensor for allegies, which I don't have)so I took it to BMW for them to disable the lights. They told me that they would have to take off all 4 tires and put it on the rack. What? Are you insane BMW? Just turn off the lights. They were scamming and treating me like a piece of poop on the ground. I took my car back to where I bought my tires, and VOILA - the mechanic in a dirty shirt and dirty hands turned the column on the bottom of the steering wheel and LIGHTS OFF! Cost=0!!!!!! BMW does not have mechanics, they have computer technicians and they don't know a thing about working on BMWs. BMW builds crappy cars and you have to deal with BMW dealerships who lie, scam and cheat you. I would love to pay BMW to take my car and cram it where the sun don't shine. BMW is committing SUICIDE. Just watch. Will never buy another BMW

seriously bmw kills lexus, when your buying a luxery car maintenance is gonna come into play to some degree, my car hasnt had any major problems in the last 7 years at all but some minor things my 98 5 series has 185,000 mile on it and is running like new still, when i compare my car to my friends 99 lexus , my car looks and runs like its 10 years newer, lexus design ages horrible while the bmw ages like wine. definitely bmw is top of the line over any car company in its class (3 series is the offical benchmark sedan) and lexus is not the company that comes close to beating it. A company that steals audi's pioneered headlight led's and is now trying to mimic bmw's new led tube taillights on there new 2012 GS models and new ES models should tell you enough. Along with those fake tail pipes they put on there no isF . lexus is a joke. merc and beamer
