I have an e46 M3 in the States, tuned to about 370 hp, and a 400 hp e39 M5. Then, we keep a new e60 535d for the times when we stay in Germany. As much as I enjoy BMWs, I have to say that an M3 tuned to 470 hp with these huge wheels is absolutely the wrong car for American roads. Potholes wherywhere, mostly straight flat(ish) roads, and a 70 mph speed limit. Sure, I am part guilty myself, because our 6-year old M3 would be much more fun on the Autobahn than on the Interstate, or in an Alpine pass than on some country road. However, the typical American who will get this car, but has never been out of the country, will never know what he is driving. It will be just a chick magnet and a wealth symbol.
