Hyundai Elantra Touring better than a Mazda 3 or SAAB 9-3 Wagon!!!?? Edmunds thinks so, and so do I.

Full story: AutoSpies.com

Edmunds states amp;quot; Why put down $30,000 for wagons that are over the hill and past their primeamp;quot;, when comparing the rest to the Elantra.

The car in the picture is a lame POS. It will never experience a "prime" and the 2.0L iron block 4-banger won't keep pace with any of the competition.

Hyundais are total pieces of trash, just like all asian cars. Why try to decide which one is better when both of them are pieces of trash to begin with?

The real trash is the Holden garbage that washed up on America's shores. We said "we don't want it" and just like that, GM cancelled the programs.

Its good to so somebody who accepts that Holdens are pieces of garbage,
really, they are.
You could almost say that Holden ruined Pontiac.
Holden is just used by GM so they can have a presence in Australia without having to go to the trouble of exporting Chevys, Buicks, Cadillacs and other GM brands, so of course, its really neglected.

The only touring I'm interested in an Elantra doing is the touring it will be doing in the scrapyard when it passes its warranty.

The Mazda 3's suspension is a joke, you feel every bump to the extent it becomes uncomfortable to be driving in one.

So sporty suspension is a joke? Sorry, but you're not going to have lateral acceleration with full floater suspension and you know that. That's what seperates the wheat from the chafe in the small car segment, Mazda offers a sporty offering with lots of options and every year 100K people buy them. For those that want a cushy ride, go purchase something with less sporting intentions.

A Mazda 3 isn't a sportscar, its what you call a piece of jap crap.

A car is meant to function smoothly on an every day road or freeway.

Its always the same with how asian brands brag about numbers.

Not only is the suspension a joke, but the car itself is a joke. Anybody who would rush to buy one has serious problems.

You don't seem to have any taste in cars, especially if you are defending a piece of crap Mazda 3,
I feel sorry for you.

I'd much rather drive a Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8 than any of the three boring econo-boxes duking it out here.

I wasn't saying that the Pontiac G8 is the worst car that there is, I am just saying it could have been considerably better and it arguably is one of the reasons that Pontiac became a burden for GM.
It is still much better than a Hyundai Elantra Touring, a Mazda 3 or SAAB... I too would much rather a Pontiac G8 than any of these tiny cars.

I just drove my 2009 Elantra Touring out of the door yesterday and tested it near ski lift areas. I love the car! Esp. with the price of 14,914.-OTD ( with all incentives & TTL included ). If I got Mazda3-speed3; I would have paid at least $4,000.- more, plus my head would have touched the Mazda3's roof, and my son at the backseat would have groaned for more room since we both are 6'2". The insurance on Touring is also a lot cheaper than Mazda3. I love the idea of having all safety techno on my car including the ESC without paying more to get them as options.
I will pay off the Elantra Touring in 7 months, while I might have taken me 9-10 months for Mazda3!
Oh, I'm also the only one out of 3 owners in So. Cal. who are driving 5spd. Touring at this moment. Yes, many heads turned in my direction when I drove my kids to the games.
The Touring is practical, upscale-looking that anyone can drive for years to come. My old minivan was at 314,783 miles when I drove to trade-in as a clunker. I will keep the Touring until th eengine dies on me because the MPG on Touring is great to commute and driving across the country ( thus is named "Touring"). The car is for sensible frugal folks who live a good life without debt, nor destorying environment to drag the sense of their well-beings! The folks who don't need to tie their worth with material jokes.
the car should humbly and dutifully serve you, not the other way around.

Well I am one of a number of people who wouldn't even dream of driving a plain, ugly and bland appliance,
which is just what a Hyundai is.

If you want a car with no character and soul whose design defeats its purpose, go right ahead.

Hyundais and Mazdas both fit one category - trash.

People who say they are good vehicles simply say it in a pointless attempt to convince themselves that the cars aren't pieces of characterless ugly trash.
If you had any sense of what a car was then you would buy an American vehicle and support your country's economy,
rather than allowing a foreign country to rake money out of yours.
