The current 5 series is just plain ugly. A wonderful car I'm sure, and I've owned many BMWs. But ugly is ugly regardless of performance. Full of strange body creases and disturbing shapes. Park a new G8 GT next to a 535i and consider the $20K price premium of the ugly one. Even the vaunted roundels don't help much here.

as said by previous reviewer, what happened to all the BMW's ? my good lord they are all ugly now. And the least ugliest of them all is the 3 series and the most ugliest will be 7 while 5 stays to be the middle ugliest. I dont understand a good reason to pay over $20G premium extra for the bavarian motor while pontiac might be new the in the segment but sure its a screamer. man just look at it and be honest dont you guys have lust for it? i mean i do

Ahh... you have to love an Australian built car :) but I would still go for the 5 Series

After owning a BMW and continuously having to get it fixed, I would get the G8. At least I would be able to drive it to some other place than the service shop. I learned my lesson quick. The newer models of BMW just aren't a reliable car; it's as simple as that. Take the extra money and go on vacation.
