BMW's electric i3 steals march, as tightening fuel consumption rules threaten luxury makers
German luxury car manufacturer BMW's new little i3 electric vehicle is likely to lose a substantial amount of money in the short term for the company, but the techniques involved in building the car should give it a lead over its German competitors with the possibility of a big payoff in the long-term.

Not a bad story but some bullshit in it. For example "At the same time, the conventional wisdom that human output of carbon dioxide was warming the planet has come under pressure from some scientists who question the link. Their case was strengthened when it was discovered, after the ClimateGate controversy in 2009, that data had been manipulated to persuade computer models to come up with pre-selected conclusions favoring warmest theories."
This has nothing to do with the issue of high fuel prices that is driving electric cars.
Nor are the claims stated factual. While a VERY few scientists question AGW, they cannot find any EVIDENCE to base it on. And 'climategate' was given a clean bill of scientific process by the supervising bodies. This 'false scandal' was based on 'insider language' in emails that was deliberately misrepresented by the denialist camp.
