2009 Acura TL: It's Official: It's Ugly, But Should be Fast

That is one ugly car. Has anyone seen a new Acura, they are just scary. My kids throw up when they see one.

Honda makes excellent cars, but their weakness has been in esthetics. It is usually an accident when they create a really good looking car, e.g. the TL model that preceded the model of the last few years. But they always rectify such accidents. You know they don't have a clue since there has never even been a "Honda" or "Acura" look. Generally, newer models don't look like preceding models. The worst offense with the new TL is the grill.

Looks like Honda just gave away marketshare to Toyota and Nissan. FUGLY,FUGLY,FUGLY! I feel bad for the dealers who will be stuck with selling this design for the next few years. Lexus/Infiniti, here I come.

I've had 3 Acuras over the last 12 years, but my next car will NOT be an Acura. EXTREMELY disappointed with the crap they're putting out now.

I think it looks like a suturn with a little bit of camry. The toaster grill is just hideous...The whole car looks bigger and heavier..I am glad I have my first generation TSX.

UGLY for sure, the 2008 TL was a great looking car, but Honda/Acura ruined this car .... Audi here I come

Agree completely. Saw a TL for first time today at David McDavid Acura, Austin, TX. Absolutely hideous. My 12 year can design a better looking car. Guess Acure hired BMW's Chris Bangle to mangle their cars too. However, TXS look very nice if goofy silver grill plate overlooked. UK Accord styling more attractive than US Acura version.

Honda has lost their marbles. Both the Accord and the Acura TL are very ugly. Everyone is trying to mimic BMW's Hofmeister kink on the "C" pillar that has been on every BMW sedan starting with the 1500 (we had a 67 1800), but the only one that looks OK is the Maxima because they cut the roofline so low. I wish BMW would freshen their take on it as well, more like the old 850, but they do it better than anyone.

I have a 2002 Acura TL and I have to say, I do not like 2009 TL. It has losts is classic beauty. Now it looks as if Acura is trying to be too sporty and failed. Infinity and Audi, get sporty but keep the classic beauty of the car. Acura needs to go back to their roots.
I think eventually, running out of ideas who can out do who.....makers will eventually opt for remaking the classics. Hey, classics is what sells.

Whew!!! I'm glad that I didn't like the new 2009 Tl because I really liked my 2004 model. It still has that classy yet sporty look that will last for years to come. So at least I won't be upset when I pull up to a new '09 TL.

acura finally makes a ugly car, thought I never see the day, but they completly lost all faith I had in there designs. I've been designing for 5 years and I can tell you that I could of done better job piss drunk in one night! Then I heard there cuting the s2k from the line up. Is honda tring to do the whole gm bankruptcy number or what. I would stop selling acuras if I was a dealer lmfao!
