I have to go with Cadillac on this one as they are a unique product and not just a "lick it and stick it" badge on a Ford platform. The CTS is truly a world class car. Cadillac outsells Lincoln by a hefty margin, 215K for Cadillac versus 141K for Lincoln per Automotive News data center. If vehicle sales are a true indicator of which is perceived as better, then Cadillac wins hands down.

I'll also note that Lincoln's two highest sellers, the Mexican made MKZ and the Canadian MKX, are both considered imports. The only Cadillac that is imported into the U.S. is the Escalade EXT which is made in Mexico. Just some food for thought.

Cadillac and lincoln are both nice cars, but I think the main reason lincoln trails in sales is because of the styling of their cars. Why spend an extra 10k for a glorified ford edge? The interior of vehicles like the navigator really only appeal to designer/artsy type folks as well. I know people who call the $80000 navigator ugly.

It is clearly obvious to all. Lincoln is gone. Cadillac at least still has body shells that are unique. All Lincoln's are re-badged/re-arranged chrome Ford's. Cheaper that way, indeed, but what you get is cheap. Lincoln, will not make it. The name, who knows, but Lincoln as a real auto as in times past is gone. Sad to be so negative, but those are the facts.

than why put a northstar in a buick. i say why buy a cadillac just buy a cheaper buick. i can remember when a pontiac was a pontiac 301 and 389 400. a buick was a buick 350, 430. oldsmobile 455,403. chevy had chevy engines 307,305,283,265.396,400,454. then in the late 70s the cadillac fleetwoods had 305 chevy engines. i know guys that owned buicks that hated chevys. chevys were cheap, dime a dozen in my day. now days its all the same. i bought my wife a stupid brand new rebadged chevy cavalier named cadillac.what a piece of junk the cadillac cimarron.

Yes, Buick certainly deserves a good look before Cadillac, it depends, if someone just wants a nice comfortable car with all the features, Buick is it, unless someone is really picky about performance and flashy looks and they have extra money, then they should get Cadillac. Hhaha, yes, Cimarron! That was a funny car!!

Buick actually has some class, one reason why Mercury is ailing in sales. People who are looking for a more luxurious Ford Fusion skip Mercury and get the Lincoln MKZ because the Mercury Milan barely differs from the Fusion. Cadillac and Buick...if you came to America and looked at both companies, you wouldn't know they were both owned by GM. BTW I like Lincoln a lot better than Cadillac. My dad has owned an 87 town car (1 million km) and 97 town car (lost it in an accident) and currently owns a 2000 Lincoln Town Car. I will be future Lincoln/Ford owner for sure.

Well, there wouldn't be a Cadillac without Ford, and there wouldn't be a Lincoln without Cadillac. Henry Ford and a couple others, started Cadillac. Then this guy Leland made it a standalone company, which was later purchased by General Motors. After that he started building Lincolns, which were later purchased by Ford. The original caddy's and lincolns were the same cars, built by the same guy.

For the most part, Lincolns drive like cars and Cadillacs drive like submarines. The submarine-feel is great for some people, but it's hard for me to believe that the people in this forum prefer it to actually feeling the road...
