Why do you need to jump start it? It's only two years old and is dead already?

Typical GM junk.

The point is, a GM vehicle that's only two years old shouldn't need a jump start. Also, its unlikely you'll find a good grounding point on that POS.

I agree with you Mechanic, CS is a moron. It does not matter what car you have or how new/old it is, a battery can die for many reasons. If it is a newer car, one main reason is a light was left on, the door not shut all the way, etc. All or most of which would be the owner's fault, but it still can happen.
CS should keep his fing mouth shut if he doesn't have anything nice to say!!

On the right of a dipstick sticks out a metal flat piece with a hole in it. That's the negative. Manual shows it. From personal experience (twice), torrents are not jump startable. Have to replace battery because they use the dry batteries

"A Guy" - I saw that in the manual, too, but I have some doubts about whether that location actually works. My 2008 Torrent was jump started yesterday by an emergency road service guy. His first attempt, using the location shown in the manual, did not work. Instead, he used a bare metal bolt on top of the strut tower and the car started right up. So Torrents are jump startable, but you may have to try different locations for the negative contact.
