I own a 1989 Honda Accord DX with 289,000 miles on it. I am the third owner and the car; it runs great and the interior is still in excellent condition. I have had a few things done to the engine, such as all the seals replaced and a new carburator, but other than that it is still a sound running car. I intend on restoring it to original new condition. |

I own a 1996 Honda Accord, Special Edition, and the whole family loves it. It was our first car and it's been driven by my husband, myself, my son and now my youngest daughter took it with her to college in Colorado almost 3 years ago. My husband and I were concerned about the performance of the car in a cold weather but so far, so good! Its mileage now is over 160,000 and the only repair done to it 2 times had to do with brakes (it's been driven by two teenagers, so you can imagine why) but other than that, just the regular maintenance. My daughter loves it and says she will drive it forever! |

OK, I am about to convert. I have for years driven Subaru, love Subaru (though my last has sucked) but I need better fuel mileage. Subaru isn't bad for an AWD vehicle, great handling, safe and it's not even the cost of fuel, I just think we all need to really think about what we drive, how, why etc. and Honda seems the best choice for reliability, gas mileage etc.
Glad to see so many love their Hondas, bodes well for me....I hope. Thinking Civic |

I drive a 1995 Honda Accord with 188,000 miles on the odometer. The car is very reliable and get constantly 30+ mpg. Handling and safety are good (no ABS tho). No major repairs. I am very happy with the car and will drive it til it falls apart. |

My 1994 accord just hit 200,000k miles. Spend less than $1000 on maintenance since purchased at 91k miles (I do the work myself, so that's just parts). Honda makes engines that run forever. |

1 I own a 1992 Honda Accord LX sedan, and am the original owner. It just turned 200,000 on the way to work today. The only problem I have ever had is the fact that I live in upstate NY, so the vehicle has some rust. It continues to run as well as it did the day I drove it off of the lot.... and still gets 30mpg! My next car will be another Honda Accord. |

I have a 1983 Honda Civic Wagon 5 spd.(named Marley). I live in Cincinnati and that car has moved me to New York City AND to Nashville. We made it from Cincinnati to Nashville on 1/2 tank of gas! That's over 50 mpg - and he's got lots of power! Unfortunately, Marley needs a new engine... his poor rings finally just gave out. If anyone has a CVCC 1.5 for sale please email me...(Ed Note: Please use the contact page to email the webmaster to get Jessica's email address.) |

I am a technician at a Honda dealership, and I own two older higher mileage Hondas myself. My one I drive in the winters is a 1992 Accord LX 4DR 5-speed, and it now has a little over 231,000 miles on it. I got it with 208,000 for $500 and replaced a lot of the front suspension and the radiator/condensor and its been running like a charm since. My other vehicle is a 1995 del sol VTEC 5-speed that is just about to break 200,000 this summer. I got that car with about 160,000 on it and all I have replaced since is the elecrical portion of the ignition switch and both door checkers. Of all the Hondas I have personally seen though, which is many, the highest was a 1997 Odyssey with about 460,000 miles on it with the original engine and transmission, still in great shape. Shows the durability of these vehicles! |

I've got a 95 Honda Civic DX hatchback that's got 205,000 miles and hums right along. regular oil changes, etc. I average 35-38 mpg (really) I love this car and it is because of this site that I decided to hold onto my car until it doesn't want to drive any more. which apparently is going to be loads more miles! happy driving! Yay Honda! |

I have a 1999 Acura RL, and it's got 237,000 miles on it! It looks and drives like brand new, and everything is original except I had to replace the radiator, at 200,000 miles. No one can believe how good it looks and drives. Honda and Acura are the way to go! |

I have a 1983 Honda Civic Wagon with 150,000 miles on it. It is such a great car! I bought him a couple of years ago for $400. My baby had been sitting in a farmer's field for years before I found him. My Wagon has moved me from Ohio to NYC and also to Nashville, TN. I treated him to a nice black coat of paint, tinted the windows and dropped some great rims and low profile tires on him which has done wonders for the handling (no power steering). People always stare when we drive by!! I constantly find notes under my winshield from folks who want to buy my car. But it will never happen! This car is "historic" and runs amazing. I get over 50 mpg and a ton of power! |

I went from Cleveland, Ohio to Texas to buy my 1985 Accord LX sedan with 122K on it around the year 2000. It now has 230K on it and has given almost zero mechanical trouble. EPA emissions check requirements have gotten harder to meet over time, and my Honda mechanic made adjustments to meet them, which reduced mileage. The original clutch lasted until over 225K mark, and the car has been a real pleasure to drive and to use. Accident damage and fast-increasing surface rust of late on roof and trunk lid and inside fuel door have ended its usefulness to me, although the frame is still solid as a rock (a lot of salt on winter roads here, so that's high praise) so I'm looking for another car despite its continued reliability. Manual transmission stil like new. Original plan to put 350K on it fizzled due to wife wanting to use her late model car for trips. so maybe 25K of its miles are stop and go driving. |

After 216,500 miles my 1990 Accord EX is still going strong. She's been cross country twice and is just now starting to show some wear and tear (paint chipping and upholstery peeling from doors). My mechanic says she will easily make it to 300k! I will always be a Honda owner! |

I have a 1995 Civic DX sedan with 313,000 miles on it... and the ORIGINAL clutch! I'm planning to have some major work done on the car... and then we'll see if I can get it to 600,000. How cool would that be? |

I have a 2001 Honda with 165K miles on it. I drive it in the chicago area, salt, rain, snow, gravel, etc... Car starts right up and it works great! Routine maintenance and with modest driving, the car get approx 32 MPG. All paid for and a great drive.
I read down throught this topic, I must admit, being a former "compact car enthusiast" I know most kids beat up their cars or buy a beat up car from someone else and then they hate the car. what I mean by beat up -- -- kids remove AC, power steering, gut the interior, in a nut shell "F%Ck" the car up completely to be a street racer and when it's time to sell, they slap it back together and the guys here are the next victim. If you dont know anything about cars, have a good mech look at the used car before buying. I recently bought a honda odissey "05" for my wife and I had to look through 3 or them and turn down, eventhough the price was really good. They've been in accidents (I could tell by missaligned contour lines, loose pannels, etc.) the engines had a weird growl with a tow package (someone might have killed it by pulling heavy cargo), etc.. all in all, beware what you buy. Let's face it, everything has a limit, but a well maintained honda will probably lave a highest limit and resale value out there. Richard |

I have a 1993 Civic sedan that just rolled over 260,000 miles yesterday. Physically, it has seen much better days (fading paint and rust, cracked windshield, broken rear door handle, dash lights are out most of the time), but is very mechanically sound. I've been trying to complete routine repairs (brakes, exhaust) myself to save money as it is hard to justify putting much money into it. I will keep driving it until a significant issue (engine or transmission) comes up. It is a great commuter car and gets great gas mileage (average of 43 on the interstate). I've actually recorded 46 mpg once and went 501 miles on a tank of gas!! It is a source of pride for me, though I'm sure I'm alone in that when people see me drive that rust bucket. My wife can't wait for it to die, so we can get rid of the eyesore.(We have another civic that just sits in the driveway waiting until this one dies. I keep joking to her that our 3 year old daughter will inherit it when she gets her licence. My wife doesn't laugh at that. |

I bought mine from my brother when it had 225,000 miles on it. I live in Kansas and drove to San Diego, in 1995. I turned 250,000 on it that trip. We have changed 6 timing belts on the car. I finally sold it in 2004. It had 302,000 miles on it. It had a lot more than that though, your see we had over sized tires on it from 86,000 miles. lol. Oh by the way.. It was a chevrolet..........USA
