WASHINGTON (AP)-- Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 655,000 Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT pickup trucks to fix a hose that could affect the vehicles' braking power.
The automaker is issuing the recall of 2005-2006 versions of the trucks with 5.4 liter 3-valve engines. That's according to a posting Wednesday on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood says more than 600,000 of the trucks are in the United States and about 50,000 are in Canada. About 1,500 are in other countries around the world.

Ford says there have been 11 minor accidents and no injuries tied to the issue.

Dealers will replace the hose at no charge to consumers. Owners are expected to be notified in late June, and the recall is expected to begin in July.

For more information, owners can contact Ford at (800) 392-3673

This story is nowhere as big as Toyota buying back 813,000 Tacoma's due to frame rot. This is going to cost Toyota over 100 million. HA HA.

At least they are doing the right thing and buying them back. Ford is still the recal king with over 10 million vechicles business week August 13 2007. Toyota has the money to buy them back too.

What is this? The pristine utopia of a car company buying back their vehicles due to rotting frames?

Why should Ford buy back thier trucks, they are not rusting away at the frames and snapping in half. Ford has a recall on a hose, should they buy back the truck for a hose??. This is a PR image move for Toyota with a chance to sell more trucks at a time when thier trucks are sitting on the lot "Rusting" away. Buying back trucks with incentives to sell and boost Tundra or Tacoma sales. They are doing to look good while selling new trucks, this is a joke, only suckers like you would fall into it. This could turn out to be a profitable move. But if most were smart they would take the money and Buy a Ford or Dodge truck, the new Toyota will only result in a rusty decision down the road again.
By the way did you read how I had to push a Toyota truck off the road last night becasue it broke down in the middle of the intersection. OH WHAT A FEELIN IT WAS..

Ford won't have to recall as many trucks in the future because it won't be selling that many trucks like they have the past 10 years. F-series sales will plunge to under 500K in a few years and we could likely see the Camry overtake it as the number one vehicle in America.
