Are they going to help with repair costs?

The repair costs on Hondas, Toyotas and whatnot are pretty high and if you need a certain part, they are almost never available.

You can add the Accord as well to the Civic for Automatic transmission problems. Honda knows there is a problem and the fix is a $2,600.00 drain on your wallet. Honda does not give a hoot and they have taken the same approach as the big three did when they had problem cars. I know because I had to spend $2,600.00 on a 2003 Accord with 63,000 miles on it.

The japs collapse is so similar to the big 3's. At first, they were building junk but nobody knew or cared, but now sales are slowly showing that people are going back to domestics. The big 3 just need to work on their interiors a bit, they need to use better materials in them.

You can also add the Honda Prelude to the list. My neighbor had one and replaced the transmisison twice in 115,000 miles.

Well, my daughter's new 2008 Honda Civic was making a noise and giving her problems at startup - yes it is an automatic - guess what? She took it in for the 2nd time in two weeks and they have decided to replace the transmission. Honda will not even furnish her a rental car because she is not 23 yrs old! What an inconvenience. I'm so disappointed. I have owned at least four hondas and never had a problem.

The problem seems to point to your daughter's driving habits. You should teach her how to drive properly.

My 08 civic LX bought in 3/08 gives signs of transmission problems : cracking sound after shifting gear; jerk and cracking sound when at stop sign/re-roll. brought to dealer twice and it was "...normal...", per dealer !! Always rattling like tap dancing from window. very noisy. my advice is to stay away from Honda civic. I spread this word because i'm frustrated. the car costed me $20,000.00.
