The Camaro's time has come and gone - just like the Mustang & Chrysler Challenger. While a like performance - fuel mileage must be taken seriously - as fossil fuels are rapidly being depleted. If GM would have taken all those monies wasted on the Camaro's rebirth - and focused them on a more fuel efficient eng. w/enhanced performance, and put it in a aerodynamic and lightweight chassis -- imagine what it might have done for them. I believe the management at GM must be changed - otherwise they will fail again.

You should buy one.

The new Camaro rocks, got one ordered. Gets good MPG for a muscle car actually. The real truth is there is no gas shortage, if there truly was wouldn't we be drilling in the northern plains?....until we do drill, don't believe the BS

I would be concerned that sales of the Camaro will parallel those of the Dodge Challenger---which have peaked initially and now are dropping significantly.

It is my understanding that plant is approved for OT and they can’t build them as fast as they would like. I do know that our local dealership can only take orders for the car and October will be the first month they actually have inventory and a small one at that.

If you didn't know the numbers before posting that statement, you shouldn't have made the statement. For your info, the Camaro is produced at the Oshawa Ontario facility--it was the site for the Chev/GM pickup production but that has disappeared, and Camaro is the only product remaining there. As of May/09, production was running full tilt, with 19000 backorders--a possible three month delay in filling orders. As of this moment, up-to-date stats are unavailable, but there was an article in the Toronto Globe where sales in June had stalled.

I can find, out it will just take a little longer, and no I have not had the time to do so. You know what; you are a very time consuming individual. The fact of the matter still stands and that is (let me be specific) so you don’t get all up in arms, in LOUISIANA you have to wait three months to get a Camaro and they are flying off the shelf.

I spent a lot of time there back in the 90’s. Thanks anyhow-

IN LOUISIANA!! I'm OK with that, but why didn't you say that in the first place? Oh yeah--I forgot--you wanted the world to think they're flying off the shelves everywhere! I wish they were, for the sake of the Oshawa workers. I still believe that sales of the Camaro will follow the Dodge Challenger results--hope not, but cars like that tend to be fads which quickly peter out.

You said "Peter Out" That's funny...
It's about time that GM came out with something that's got some balls and will get the looks our old cars used to. I emailed GM back when Chrysler came out with the roadster, I begged them to put something together that us baby boomers could buy and run with the others, maybe have a few flashbacks of the 60's and 70's.
You know at that time we baby boomers were sitting pretty solid financially, now we're sitting here worried about the future, damn obama anyhow !

After a few calls up to Mi. and TX. it seems as if Louisiana isn’t the only place in need of the Camaro. Dealerships all over the country are in need of these rides. So, what I say stands. The Camaro continues to fly off the shelves.

For a guy who sees himself as never wrong, you seem to be doing an awful lot of backtracking!! Perhaps now you'll check first before making bold statements?

GM does not honor its warranties. I bought a 1999 Pontiac Firebird TransAm new from the dealer and it was buring a quart of oil every 200 miles which I noticed after a couple days of owning the car and told the dealer. GM would not replace the car and tried their best to not honor the warranty. The GM rep said in the Lemon Law hearing that it was "normal". GM lost and had to replace the car. The company didn't honor its warranty even when they were making money, why would anyone buy from a bankrupt GM? I've had good experience with Chrysler Corp.
