..and were they being reprimanded for their japanese assembled vehicles or for their american assembled vehicles?
I know the Tundra was one that took a public beating. It's assembled here. Could they also have been referring to the fit and finish issues I see in my NUMMI assembled Tacoma? |

You are all wrong, wrong, wrong.
Japanese, American, it doesn't matter, they are all made by robots. Also at the end of the day who has the better warranty. Every truck maker has a hiccup or two, just browser Edmunds or any other truck board, we can find fault in all of them. It comes down to what appeals to you, is it looks options, bang for buck, who has the better spiff going at that moment, do they make the color that turns you on, are you "American Made" meaning design and conceived in the USA not Japan, even though it maybe be built here. And to that point, businesses like these are much more a global enterprise, lines are blurred. Of course I will never be a Ford guy, engines are weak, always have been, but it is still top seller, Tundra look good, interior however, is too plastic looking even though it has great features such as the center console, and GM products, are much better looking on the inside. Rust is an issue, some parts of the country this even more true. I am trying to decide between a GM truck whether GMC or Chevy, and Tundra, all three are very good, but the GM products have a proven tow history, and honestly, quality is just as good, so it comes down to comfort and features, and in MY Opinion, or me and no one else, GM is a better truck in terms of comfort and build options such as the 6.0L engine. The the debate continue.......... but guys, keep as gentleman, the moron talk only reenforces the stereo type of a truck owner, a knuckle dragger, keep it clean but also realize you will just agree to disagree. |

To the above poster....if you opt for the 6.0L V8 in the GM truck be prepared to deal with some hefty, and I mean HEFTY, fuel bills. Expect to average 11 or 12mpg at best. Typical mixed mileage averages dip well into the single digits on some of the HD offerings with that engine and the towing package.
