I bought a 2014 Impala (LT with the 6-cyl.) last November and I love it. It has the largest trunk among the sedans in its class (including the Avalon) except for the Taurus, but the Taurus got poor reviews fro Consumer Reports and others.

It's stylish and quiet and has a nice ride but good handling for its size. Fit and finish are fine. Reliability was unrated by CU because it was too new, but so far, I had only one minor problem that they fixed for free.

I recommend the LT with 6-cyl., the advanced safety package, the convenience package, and the sunroof. I had the dealer add mudflaps and all-weather floormats.

The only complaint I have is that it is not a beast in the snow. It performs OK, but with a few inches of unplowed snow on a moderate slope from a dead stop, it struggles. I suspect more aggressive tires would solve that problem and I may get a set of snow tires next winter.

I have to agree. GM has done a good job on both. Good to see them finally getting their act together with the cars.

Ignition switches......mean anything OD........Think OD> The little 4 are going the way of their city...Detroit! Deaths starts with a "D"....deaths because they hid defects (faulty switches)and refuse to recall their botched engineering .

Yes we are! I would have to think twice before buying one because of this very thing (I'm not a GM guy) but I will say they have done a wonderful job of getting their cars competitive again.

You believe everything Detroit news writes? Listen, Govt Motors was never even close to Toyota in sales. Detroit/GM were given millions from the tax payers and the lies about being #1 started. Come on Rot its over Govt Motors has crossed the line and Detroit is on life support...its over!!!!!!!!!
