What a great thread! I'm just sorry I didn't see it in time to share with you my favorites so far...something along the lines of "my grandpa died 3 yrs ago we got my dog 4 yrs ago, my dog is acting more and more like my grandpa every day, is my grandpa reincarnated to my dog?" with less punctuation I am sure. I looked for it but I think it's gone.

Nowhere within the story is it stated she lost control of the car twice. What article did you read?

The driver claimed she lost control of the car. That's what I was questioning. I'll look it up again.

It's paragraph 4. One line. "Adams said she accidentally lost control of the car."

Never occurred twice, as you have stated. Comprehension is good, assumption is not.

Is this the car that crashed into the house?

Reread paragraphs 2 & 3. She rammed the house, left, came back & rammed it again. That sounds like twice to me!

So if she didn't have the toddler in the car she wouldn't have been charged?

The second paragraph is a summary of the story and the ultimate reason for her arrest, driving into the townhome. She was in the car, as the driver, when a second party broke the windows prompting her to back away and hit a pole, She later returned, driving the car into the home. She rammed the house once. The second paragraph is called a summary introduction, taught in elementary journalism classes. As I started, comprehension is the key to intelligent reading.

I wasn't aware that a degree in journalism was required to read the Chicago Sun-Times.
As long as we're being smug about ourselves, if you mean to type "As I stated....", then perhaps you should type exactly that, not "As I started....".
Whattsa matta, your "elementary journalism" class didn't teach you to check your work before you hand it in?:)

"I really didnt' mean it. Between the brat crying, trying to spellcheck my text message, put on makeup and eating my yogurt, I didn't see the house merge in front of me."

"Plus, the house didn't have it's blinker on."
