What a great thread! I'm just sorry I didn't see it in time to share with you my favorites so far...something along the lines of "my grandpa died 3 yrs ago we got my dog 4 yrs ago, my dog is acting more and more like my grandpa every day, is my grandpa reincarnated to my dog?" with less punctuation I am sure. I looked for it but I think it's gone.

Nowhere within the story is it stated she lost control of the car twice. What article did you read? |

The driver claimed she lost control of the car. That's what I was questioning. I'll look it up again. |

It's paragraph 4. One line. "Adams said she accidentally lost control of the car."

Never occurred twice, as you have stated. Comprehension is good, assumption is not. |

Is this the car that crashed into the house? |

Reread paragraphs 2 & 3. She rammed the house, left, came back & rammed it again. That sounds like twice to me! |

So if she didn't have the toddler in the car she wouldn't have been charged?
|
||||
The second paragraph is a summary of the story and the ultimate reason for her arrest, driving into the townhome. She was in the car, as the driver, when a second party broke the windows prompting her to back away and hit a pole, She later returned, driving the car into the home. She rammed the house once. The second paragraph is called a summary introduction, taught in elementary journalism classes. As I started,comprehension is the key to intelligent reading. |

I wasn't aware that a degree in journalism was required to read the Chicago Sun-Times. As long as we're being smug about ourselves, if you mean to type "As I stated....", then perhaps you should type exactly that, not "As I started....". Whattsa matta, your "elementary journalism" class didn't teach you to check your work before you hand it in?:) |

"I really didnt' mean it. Between the brat crying, trying to spellcheck my text message, put on makeup and eating my yogurt, I didn't see the house merge in front of me."
"Plus, the house didn't have it's blinker on." |
