I looked in the paper today and they were clearing out their last Avengers, and they advertized them as 41 MPG, I dont think this is possible.

The Japanese are a very monotheistic breed. It may behoove you to look at the books before making yourself look stupid |
|
Japanese superior? LOL Ask Sony why dod they get their a$$ kicked by Microsoft's XBOX 360.
Truth to be told, there is no japanese technology, all they do is copy, no technology came from Japan. No TV,no radio, no phone, no electricity NOTHING |

I have a dodge avenger 2008 The car is great. I have owned them all. The interior is not leather true but it cleans up so well it's great.I have young children and they are constantly spilling things. The carpeting is easy to keep clean. I have a Toyota and the car is boring. The mileage is ok, but I feel much better driving the Avenger. I had to take my Toyota back 4 times in the first 3 months because of electrical issues. The interior is a bit better looking than the Avenger but If you spill somethimg on the Toyota Carpet look out. Oh yea the warranty on the Avenger is a heck of a lot better than the Toyota as well.

Exactly, and tell me, which one looks, feels, and sounds more "AMERICAN" It doesnt matter where the Blandyota is built. |
Its funny all these canaidans are more worried about their job than americans! |
|
The strength of their currency has the US automakers shifting production and suppliers back to the U.S. |

Ok, another flame war. Let's wade in.
I own a 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T AWD. It's loaded. Nav system, leather seats, 6-speed, the whole deal. I'm also a big guy, high school line-backer, 6'2, 250, and in case you're wondering, no idiot either, I work in automation software design. Truth - the Avenger R/T does not deliver the fuel economy of other cars in its price range like the Prius Hybrid, Impala LTZ, Accord, or others. Point - I didn't buy it for fuel economy. In fact, if you have to ask about the milage, you can't afford it. It weighs in at 3700 lbs in the AWD configuration. It's heavy. It also has tons of torque and a quick gear ratio that launches it up to speed. The six-speed helps, but I use about $60 of gas a week (in Canada). Could I have chosen a more fuel efficient car? Yes. Would I get beat at the light, or struggle to get up to speed on the highway? Sure. Is that important to me? Yes. Truth - I fit in this car. Fact - I mentioned before that I'm a big guy. I sat in an Impala LTZ and could not get the seat far enough back for my knees to be comfortable. Altimas and Camrys were worse, cuz my size 14s would get stuck under the brake pedal and hold my foot on the gas. My wife and I have two completely different driving positions (she rides high and close, I sit far and low) and the car accommadates both with ease. Truth - The SE and SXT are sluggish. Fact - I don't even know why they made them. No pick up, no drive, mushy suspension, gutless. If you hate the Avenger, you drove one of these. If you are simply getting it for commuting, get a Sebring instead so you won't be a "poser". The R/T uses a different suspension and driveline (especially the AWD) that brings the performance back to life, even in the heavy car. Truth - Some people don't like the way it looks. Fact - Some people just want to complain. I've read more complaints about the interior plastic than I care to think about, even though it's just as much plastic and faux metal as any other ride. Also, that little black triangle in the back window? Biggest complaint about the car. Wow. Some cars WISH that was the worst thing wrong with them. So, conclusion. If you are a larger person, who wants a wide, stable car, with lots of umph and go, and you want to stand out rather than blend in, get an Avenger R/T. If you're more concerned with sensibility, go buy a Hybrid. This is not for you. Dodge - please don't change a thing. Unless you can squeeze a Hemi in there... |

I hope thats true. Because the minivan plant in St Louis which builds the same thing as the Windsor plant keeps losing work while they keep gaining work. Windsor has 3 shifts St Louis is down to 1. Windsor also got the new VW Van |

You are supposed to be a 14 year old, so SCRAM!! |

I really don't care if they are good or bad, I get paid all sorts of jack to build them. And when they don't sell, I get paid to sit at home.

Amen brother, amen. I am as well quite large, 6'5, 255 lbs. I have a 2001 Sebring LX w/ 2.7L. I got the car for two reasons...one, it fits me. I couldn't even sit in a Monte Carlo or Impala, and I felt like a sardine in an Accord. My car has 200 hp and you know what, i get 35 MPG. If i had the choice, I would get a new Avenger R/T. Why? It kicks ass. Plain and simple. |

Them Avengers are junk. All over the rental lots. Pick up one used with 25K from a rental company and only pay about $10-$12K

Or the all new tundra that is quickly becoming the darling of the rental lot. Hmmm I see you are in TX, jet on down and see some for yourself, it really is startling. |
