Hey Root..
Have you heard about the latest sales volumes for Volt and Leaf?

2013 Chevrolet Volt
Chevrolet Volt: Chevrolet continued to struggle with year over year comparisons, and failed to match May of 2012. This May GM sold 1,607, down about 4% from May 2012′s 1,680
Previously in April, 1,306 units were sold for the month. And what we at first considered but just be a blip in sales earlier in the year, turned into 3 straight declining months
(Feb – 1,626, Mar – 1,478, April – 1,306)

2013 Nissan LEAF
Nissan LEAF: Sales of the Nissan LEAF closed out May at 2,138 units, up 319.2 percent over May of 2012. At 2,138 units sold, May marks the second best sales month in LEAF’s US history, bested only by the 2,236 LEAFs sold in March 2013.

Nissan furthers says that “Since the March launch of the 2013 LEAF, with vehicle and battery assembly in Smyrna, Tenn., Nissan has sold 6,311 LEAF vehicles, up 332.5 percent over the same period in 2012.”

Previously in April, Nissan cemented its resurgence to the US market with the 2013 Nissan LEAF, as 1,936 units were sold. According to Nissan, that 1,937 units sold represented a 423.5 percent increase compared to April 2012 figures.

In March Nissan set the all-time monthly sales record for any pure electric vehicle sold in the US ever.

Yes, I believe we talked about May’s numbers in the beginning of June. I posted how strong a month Leaf had. I’m excited to see these cars selling. I will vote your post helpful.

Hey,Voice of Reality:

Do you realize you're speaking out against the self appointed arbitrator of what can and cannot be posted here?
Do you not respect Root's authority here?
Root not only rules the roost, but he adjudicates every post with his vote-- and sanctions each as to its worthiness,in his opinion.
So every time we post, we hold our breath until we get his approval--or not.
The man has anointed himself as the thread's guru--"El Supremo".
And his word is the law.

PS..
Just kidding.
You're absolutely correct.
In fact, the guy's a two faced hypocrite.
I judge your post as "Right On".

Read what I said which is “God given rights,” not government interpreted rights or Prometheus’ rights or any other right you would like to apply.

God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden with a free will. Instructions (commands) came along with it. They were allowed the freedom to choose to obey God and live forever or rebel and die. All men are given the free will to choose good or evil. Freedom has responsibilities and consequences. The same lesson can be applied to writing.

You would like to talk about the first amendment. Grippingly this still applies to your situation. This gives us the freedom of speech, religion, press, petition and assembly. The founding fathers never meant to endorse those who would do wicked deeds and they certainly didn’t mean for these freedoms to allow those with a spirit of anarchy (see my reference of rebellion in above post) the right to urinate on such public outposts as this, which I may add has a specific title.

I did all this without calling you a name. Try it sometime.

My concern with the fast charge stations is the effect on battery life. Does anyone have any legitimate background in this field?

You are speaking of rights interpreted by government. I am speaking of God given rights. You are referencing a case that fails to adhere to God given rights and surrenders to governmental interpretation. True freedom must have boundaries set by standards as it is when not interpreted by governmental interpretation. Your argument can very well be applied to abortion, pornography, flag burning etc. That’s not what we’re talking about.

I support your right to say the Volt is terrible or call little girls whores etc. Your problem is the place you decide to practice wickedness. It’s not welcome here.

There is no such thing as a "Great Lease Deal"! The very best lease deal is much worse than the worst purchase deal.
Oh ... I don't know. I know a guy in our Volt Owners Of America Club that grabbed one of those $199 leases that were happening last year. He's saving $145 a month on gas. That includes his charging costs. That ain't bad. So, "renting" a car for $55 a month isn't so bad.

Of course, he has to watch his miles, but there aren't too many other cars that can claim that. A Tesla S would lease for $499 a month.

Once again:

Wonder what all those Leaf S owners are going to do when they find out they've been flimflammed?

The Leaf S loses 81% of it's value per KBB because of the loss of battery life.

These poor saps that think they are getting one over on Volt owners need to study up.

Per the Volt chief engineer, there is no difference charging a battery fast or slow. KWH's are KWH's. However, he was talking about the difference between 120v and 240v. I can't find anything about public quick chargers, other than some negative things about DC chargers.

In fact, he states that charging the battery faster is more efficient because electric cars usually have fans that come on to keep the battery cool while charging. At least the Volt does. The longer the charge, the more times the fan has to come on. Thus more electricity to charge.

The Volt has no problems with the quicker charge because it has the cooling system which the other plug-in's don't. The range is only about 10 degrees.

Leaf owners, on the other hand must worry about overheating. In fact, it states in their manual that they should not charge a hot battery immediately.

From the link:

"Have LEAF owners considered the inconsistency between the LEAF Manual's recommendation not to charge the battery, when it's hot, and the use of public charging equipment?"

also:

" Some owners on this forum have recommended several hours of battery cool down time, before such charging,"

http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php...

The problem will be, in the long run, battery depletion when it is charged hot. That is a known.

All summer long, I can go out to my garage and find the fan on about 50% of the time. Do I worry about it? No. Do I care about the extra 20 cents it costs? No.

This is the reason that GM gives the only "Not more than 30% depletion warranty on their battery.

This is the chief engineer talking about the 240v vs 120v charging besides other things.

For those interested there are many passages in the bible that speak of exclusion. Your game is over but for reference I will post so others can read.

23 [a]No one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the LORD.
2 No one born of a forbidden marriage[b] nor any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation.
3 No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation. 4 For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim[c] to pronounce a curse on you. 5 However, the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you. 6 Do not seek a treaty of friendship with them as long as you live.
7 Do not despise an Edomite, for the Edomites are related to you. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you resided as foreigners in their country. 8 The third generation of children born to them may enter the assembly of the LORD.

Root reminds me of those hypocritical bible thumpers who pray on Sunday, but prey on the rest of the world for the remainder of the week.
I opine the guy's gone over the edge.
He acts like HE'S The Lord now.

From the ridiculous to the sublime.
It's happening right here folks.

Root, if you were a true and honest Christian, you would know better.
There once was the greatest moral teacher of all time, and still is great a leader of all Christians.
His legacy has grown across the world and survived for over two thousand years.
His nam as Jesus.
He was the son of God.
He excluded no one, ever.

You miss the point completely and your comment is of zero relevance to this particular conversation.
People exclude themselves. People are given the ability to choose and that is what we talk of here. People can choose to damn their soul to hell. People can choose to become workers of inequity that never knew him. If you choose to practice wickedness that’s your choice.

What we request is simple. Those who wish to practice wickedness are kindly asked not to do it here. Is this some revelation?

This is a car thread about the Volt. It’s also a positive thread about the Volt. It’s not a thread about whoring out little girls and so forth.

If you truly wanted to discuss sales of one particular car, in a particular segment, a comparison of all the cars in that particular segment would add transparency to your statement.

Speaking of transparency.
It would be difficult, more likely impossible for me (or anyone) to add more transparency to your presence here.
