Regarding the "Commitment"
To hell with it.
Waste of time trying otherwise.
I'll just post whatever, wherever, and however I choose from now on.
And I'll simply ignore the BS which seems to be the rule here.

The mere mention of Ford's new C-Max Energi SEL, sends insecure Volt owners into hissy fits; too funny.

The Volt's sales are pathetic compared to that other Chevy engineering marvel; the Corvair. I doubt the Volt will be around too long.

Let us not forget those General Motors management and engineering geniuses, after buying Saab, they put daytime driving lights on American cars, and touted it as a innovative safety feature. Unfortunately for the dopes at GM nobody informed them that it's actually dark in Sweden during the daytime. These are the same management and engineering geniuses that have blessed us with the Volt. Too funny.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to make that claim. At least not yet.
But the competition is really heating up now.
It will be interesting to see what the sales comparisons look like 6 months from now.

We have been spending quite a bit of time lately away from home base.
Much of that has been in Toronto staying at hotels and taking cabs.
Today, we took a Prius EV cab to go to our plane at Toronto Island Airport.( We land there when visiting, and stay at the Marriott Residence downtown)
That was our first experience in an EV hybrid of any make or model.
I thought it a pretty decent ride.
Asked the driver how've felt about it and he really seemed positive.
More about that experience later.

Wifey says:
"Chevy engineering master piece" huh?

That's a Big Joke on the people.

government motors doesn't even have IT yet...

and they just stuck MI Tax Payers in Milford for another $258 million$ tax break so they can email on computers "inhouse"...

let alone having a non-existent engineering dept....

and that's only after hiring all the laid off HP people on the American Tax Payers dime.

Too Funny.

Two things:
I posted some real and objective numbers, based on links provided by LMV.
They're real numbers, straight out of basic math. Nothing hidden, nothing misrepresented, no surprises.
He immediately comes out with the same old, same old, snarky responses.
Why??
Then you start telling me what I should and should not be saying-- especially the part when I looked at basic Accord versus Volt.
If you go back to his original numbers, you'll see that he talked about comparing those two as well.
That's the only reason I mentioned it.
And you wax wrath about it.
Sheesh!!
All things considered, this forum and many others are akin to a Chinese Fire Drill!!
Any similarity to an intelligent and mature discussion is purely coincidental.
Youíre taking it the wrong way. I believe (in my opinion) your calculations are taken as offensive. Itís akin to saying ďlook if you did thisĒ type of scenario. People usually donít like to hear that type of talk about the car they drive. Why not just compare the car to an Escort?

I drive a truck, itís a nice truck and it has the options, but I get awful gas mileage. If some person were talking smack about my gas mileage, thatís none of their business. If I had someone trying to say ďhey look at these numbers and this and that, Iíd laugh because again, itís none of their business what I choose to drive. If you pick a Volt, or a Tesla, or a Cmax or a Leaf or a prius, whatever, feel happy with your purchase. That should be a freedom that deserves no retribution from anyone. I would probably feel inclined to support my purchase just as we see with the love Volt. What really is perplexing are the ones that want to talk bad about cars they donít even like. Is it fear? Is it hate? Is it jealously? We hear the bitch about government subsides on a Volt, but not even a peep about the same subsidies on a Tesla. What kind of stink mess is that? For goodness sake, we have some fool talking about a Corvair, another babbling about ďmy hunday elantraĒ blah blah blah..on a freaking Volt thread. Itís a car! If you donít like it donít but it. How hard is that?

Thatís my take anyway.

So any-who post away and make your heart content, while at the same time hoping these words resonate at least a bit.

Yes, your words resonate a bit, and I judge them as sincere.
That said, how anybody could see my posts (re those numbers) as offensive is beyond comprehension.
I repeatedly made it clear about not being incendiary, not taking sides, trying to simply look at clean numbers, etc, and still you folks come on like I sh-t in your dinner.
I've always been an open minded guy who doesn't think in straight lines (definitely left brained), and tried to make that clear in my posts.
I like to think that's why I've been so successful in business.(it got me this far anyway!)
But both you and your buddy LMV, insist otherwise--"oh yeah, you're just a hater; oh yeah we know you're just a wolf in sheep's clothing; oh yeah, you're just insulting our beloved car, a closet hater, a gay Canadian; rectal drip; an ex Marine liar, blah, blah, blah.
Well I'm sick of hearing that.
From now on, as I said, having witnessed this lated crap, I don't care what you or others think or say--I'll just do my thing and to he'll with it.
Screw 'em all---but save 6 for pallbearers!!.
I will be civil, but rest assured, I will be relentless..

Maybe your words wonít be taken in that manner, I donít know. My point was to demonstrate another thought in play of what I expect it appears through the eyes of a an actual Volt owner. Iíve talked to them before and itís true, they really do love these cars. To be perfectly honest I think itís great that we have a Volt owner posting here. It gives us insight on the actual car. I find the you-tube videos are worth there weight also. It gives everyone a chance to see the interior, the electric range readings etc.

If we had a Ford or a Tesla or a toyota owner posting the same types of info that would be great too. Like I said before, the more exposure these cars have the better success rate they will enjoy.

Iím all for Volt (you know that) Iím also all in for the others in the field, from every maker. What blows my mind are the silly things people say about these cars regardless of which one it is.

Gubamint motors should consider dropping a V8-6-4 in the Volt, or better yet a gasoline engine with diesel heads.

Look, dolt .... first of all ... you haven't explained what Vega Cor means. I refuse to google it.

Secondly, if I wanted to use gas every day and drive a cheaply made car that weighs half of what my car does, I'd buy a C-Max.

But I don't want to use gas every day. What makes you think I am throwing hissy fits. I'm simply trying to make sure you know what you are getting into if you ever decide to buy one.

Your hater friends wouldn't point that out to you. They'd just let you buy one and then shrug their shoulders every time you complain about having to buy gas all the time. The C-Max can go 21 miles on E. I get 45 all the time.

See .... you learned something.

I think the problem is youíre trying to figure the Volt cost by omitting the Bush era tax credits.
What he hates to admit is that even without the credits, the Volt will stomp a high end Accord if both cars are kept by owners for 8- 10 years, which is the average (about there). With the credit, the Volt is even in about 2 1/2 years. Awesome.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/drive...

After that much time, the Volt will almost pay for the original price. My son would save more than $30,000 in gas. He payed $27,000. All that's left is maintenance and all the regular stuff you pay for a car. Only electrics pay you back what you paid for the car.

The C-Max isn't junk. One mans junk is another's treasure. The problem on this forum is that the haters can't live with that.

Oh well, that sometimes happens to cranky old guys who pretend they're something they're not.
They put on the big act and eventually their conscience catches up.

I laughed so hard when I was posting those things. Guess you guys failed to see the humor.

I actually had tears coming out of my eyes, I laughed so hard. You know ... let the air out of your girlfriend .... wash you sheets.

I'm laughing again.

I guess you guys just hate direct attacks ... eh?

Maybe, if you stop ..... I'll stop.

Eh?
