I admire Toyota for being so forthright and responsible.

Anybody want to make a bet on when the next recall will be?

Recalls( a great thing) are meant to bring out a problem so a solution can be found and fixed. Domestics hide and lie about numerous problems and defects everyday.....its pathedic! Keep it quit and sweep under rug(a BAD thing)...a domestic problem. Toyota has had 60% less recalls than their domestic counter parts...not counting the sweeping under the rugs or the other 40% of the recalls...FACT!!!!

Root tends to dramatize and overstate these situations, particularly where Toyota is concerned.

Facts:
Two instances of unexpected airbag deployment have been reported.
Several instances of warning lights coming on have also been reported.
A minor injury was caused as a result of the airbag deployment.
Hence the recall.
The problem is a blockage of the air conditioner condensate drain tube, causing water to drip on a control circuit.
So far, the blockages have been found to be caused by spiders.
This condition is not the first instance of spiders-- several years ago, there was a major recall by another carmaker where spiders blocked fuel tank vent tubes.

This same thing happened in a friends Mazda a few years back. I hope they can fix all 803,000 cars that might have a defect that a spider can infiltrate.

"A defect that a spider can infiltrate" ??
Root, get real.
The only way to prevent spiders would be to shrink wrap the darn thing and load in a ton of insecticide!!

I hope that someday soon Root will cease his exaggerated reports about Toyota recalls.
Or better still, if he's bent on continuing these distortions, that he would treat all automakers the same way.

I think a redesign is in order to keep spiders from infiltrating the toyota camry.

Give it a break Root.
What really needs to be redesigned is this adolescent IP Spoofing strategy you're into these days.
Your problem with Arachnophobia should be the greater concern in your life.

If toyota redesigned the area to prevent spiders from getting into critical areas of the camry, this would be a huge step forward.

Arachnophobia anyone?

It would be tough to own a toyota camry and have a web of spiders somehow move into the car. We know they are causing this recall so it would not be out of the question.

Changing direction again Root?
We should be discussing your IP Spoofing charades.

toyota warns this recall can cause the power steering to stop working. All this because of spider.

IP Spoofing is a systemic problem here.
Root sits in the middle of that, but avoids responsibility.

If power steering goes out someone could be hurt.

Root and IP Spoofing are under the microscope these days.
Watch Root work really hard at the old "Cover Up"

If this latest toyota spider recall causes power steering trouble, short circuits, and water leaks, shouldn't their be three different recalls?

Ah, Leave it to Old Rootsy--the cover up play is on.
See Root quack like a duck. Squawk, Squawk!!
When the going gets tough, Root gets going.(In the same old direction!)
Toytota is at the number one spot in sales, so it certainly doesn't look like they're having any kind of a " Bad Day" just now.

Altho' we have to thank Old Rootsy for toning down his IP Spoofing nonsense.
Thank you Root.
Keep up the good work.

Or could toyota hold the spiders accountable and have them pay for the latest recalls?

About as much chance of holding spiders accountable as for Root admitting he's accountable for all his IP Spoofing shenanigans!
