With all due respect to the Detroit three, there could be other reasons besides the anti Japanese bias being expressed here for Toyota's larger recall numbers:
First, over the past decade, Toyota put more cars on the road.
Second, and perhaps more important, Toyota may be a bit more forthright about its recall issues after the recent fiasco over UA recalls.
last, recall numbers may be high, but what is the severity of the recalls? On most cases, they aren't serious issues.
I don't see recalls alone as a reason not to consider buying any make or model of car.
Bear in mind I'm not a Toyota owner, and my comments are completely objective and not biased.

They were just fined again for not issuing recalls when they were supposed to and a lot of the recalls were serious this year. But this should not have anything to do with bias, just truth.

No doubt there's some truth in public information.
However, most, if not all, of what JJFADS/Root has to say is often suspect.

Recalls? The world knows Toyota and quality are one. Domestics and quality are never in the same sentence or same conversation! Just a fact! I live in MI. I see a lot of complaints from domestic owners about the domestic lemon. They break and get fixed before anyone knows what happened...... and lies are their normal day. I feel sorry for the poor suckers that buy a domestic POS and get nickel and dimed to the poor house.....its disgusting!!!!!

So Toyota was recall king for 3 out of the last four years. I think the odds say the will not get it again next year.

So, Toyota is worldwide and known worldwide for A)Quality. What are the domestics best know for...in the states.......low quality..no matter what they say. 9 out of 10 people around the world would take a Toyota over a Ford anyday....thats afact!!

JJFADS/Root flogs the "Recall King for 3 years out of 4".
I'd be curious to know who were the "Recall Kings" for the past 25 or so years.

10 Largest Auto Recalls in History:

1. Ford--2009--14 Million
2. Ford--1996--7.9 Million
3. GM--1971--6.7 Million
4. Toyota--2010--6.6 Million
5. GM--1981--5.2 Million
6. Ford--1974--4.7 Million
7. GM--1973--3.8 Million
8. Honda--1995--3.7 Million
9. VW--1972--3.7 Million
10 GM--2004--3.6 Million

Looks like the real "Recall King" is GM, with Ford running a close second!

Only drivers of Bailout-mobiles try to down Toyota. They are just jealous over Toyota's success. How many years has Camry been the top selling car? Do you know how many domestic car owners wish their Malibus, Camaros, Mustangs, Fusions etc held that honor?

I would absolutely not like my car to hold such a title regardless of who made it.

That's just the recalls. Now, add 1 for every hidden defect and repair caused by engineering, workmanship and design. Its staggering.Detroit should be called deceit.

Recalls are not bad because they are teaching Toyota to build safer cars in the future.

Yes, being #1 in the world has its advantages. Being #1 in the US(Detroit) is like winning at the circus.......:)

Toyota’s #1 recall status in the world is not a bad thing. This will help them build better cars in the future. I hope they stop thinking like GM used to.

It must really be nice being obama while playing golf in HI...

as his socialist agenda is folding before his eyes.

Too Funny.
