Orders on the natural gas civic are booming for the natural gas powered civic GX for the Utah Honda dealer. Order numbers are coming in at ten to fifteen a day, which has caused the wait to get a new 'green' civic to be pushed out to November.

A friend of mine has a cavalier that runs on natural gas, so free fuel for him. I have a well but it doesnt produce enough to both heat my house and fuel a car, otherwise I would convert my silverado.

I wish there were more vehicles that ran on natural gas.

You can convert a carborated vehicle very easily and for a few hundred bucks.

conversions to CNG run about $12,000 to $15,000 with up to $10,000 in tax credits. No foriegn cars can legally be upgraded. Only a few US made cars can legally be upgraded.

There are kits out of Canada but you won't pass U.S. emmission tests because of EPA limitations on the models of cars that can be converted.

You can add a unit at home ($3,500 -$5,000 and there can be credits or rebates) to fill your car but no storage is allowed at residences (only businesses) and the time to fill your car is extensive (hours).

A gallon of natural gas is can be cheep (like 65 cents) but also expensive depending on the state you buy it in.

Filling up at a station is a challange. For example no stations are in many states (there is a government website that lists stations)

Natural Gas cars get about the same milage as gas but don't have the same "umph". You can also get a dual conversion kit that lets you run conventional gas or natural gas.
