And there you have it folks. Young women giving blowjobs in the back of a Cobalt because they can't afford to pay for all the repairs on a very poorly built car.
Looks like GM is doing what it does best.
1) Selling to the poor.
2) Promoting prostitution in their vehicles.
3) Building subpar vehicles that need constant repair.
GM can't get away with this in Buicks. Having ol'Aunt Esther give blowjobs in the back of a LaCross or Lesabre or LaDepends to pay for power steering repairs would not be good press. And that's why Buick consistently ranks near the top of JD Power surveys. It's because their owners are high on Valium when filling out the questionaire cards.

Ok. So i took my car in bc i lost my power steering and ran into my parents fence (luckily i was at my parents already and not on the road i had my three babies with me). I heard about the recall so i took it in. They replaced the power steering motor but the problem still persist. They said it was the power steering column so isn't it the same thing power steering failure???? well they don't want to cover it and it'll cost me 7 hundred to fix. My car came out the shop the same way i took it in. HElP.

i have a 2006 chevy colbalt ss. I love it but today My power steering went out with my grandchildren in the car its a good thing my son was sitting next to me and was able to help me turn my car. This could have been really bad. I need to know if there is a recall on the power steering because I will not be able to pay for repair and I only have 60,000+ miles on it

Recall replaced power steering motor once. Problem has returned. Obviously, the recall is for the WRONG thing or it would have corrected the problem. GM will only fix it one time....well, GM it ain't fixed, it was treated for a symptom but you never found e cause! Now, what are you gonna do? Wait for the law suits or find the real problem?

The recall repair didn't work! I have a 2005 Cobalt and took the car in for the recall although at the time had no trouble with the power steering. Since then I have had recurring power steering and engine malfunctioning problems. I took it back to the dealer and the service tech's said "well, it's not doing it now!" (referring to the power steering problem). So, about $300 later and nothing has changed. Today, the power steering message appeared on the dash and then went out. I muscled the car home and parked it. After reading many shocking posts from others about harrowing experiences with their Cobalts, I vow never to drive it again. I called chevrolet and lodged a formal complaint. I'm not holding my breath, but I though I'd go through channels and see if the corporation has any vestige of a soul. I really doubt it, but hope springs eternal. The car has major problems, unfortunately they affect the operation and more important the safety of the vehicle. I have read accounts of deaths caused by this problem. GM needs to take appropriate and immediate action.

2010 Cobalt vin.no. 1G1AF5FXA7187235. While driving no warning chime or light and steering goes out only then did the light come on with no prior warnings or engine light coming on , after restart power steering works . Fearful to drive now and after hearing reports of injuries and loss of life. Reported and will have it looked at. Incident 8-21-2013 mileage 31,336. Please GM. be responsible and do the right thing and do another recall on all Cobalts.

This thread is old, but I wanted to add my son's cobalt is still having the same problem...after already having the recall repair done. He's young, on his own right now, and prior to finding out about the recall, we were fixing other things left and right that probably weren't even bad. At 50K miles this is a ridiculous amt of issues with this car. He works down the road from his house, so it's not like he does heavy mileage. GM needs to deal with the repeat breakdown of this vehicle!

GM is on the hook for about 1 million defective Cobalts on the road. The fix is about $1000, so GM has a liability of over $1 Billion not to mention the lawsuits.
Should be a recall on it as it's a safety defect, probably easily solved.

2005 chevy cobalt power steering, like everyone else went out. I fear for me and kids lives. Everyday is a struggle because I don't know when it'll start acting up. One minute it drives ok then the next im stuck on the side of the road. I was told it was the transmission, so I got another.$2800 and it's STILL giving problems Its my only vehicle and I can't afford another 1. How many deaths will occur before the dealer realizes that this car is unsafe?? I've kept the maintenance up( oil change, filter, etc etc) but it's no hope for that car. I will NEVER purchase a chevy or anything dealing with GM ever again!
