Honda Launches Online Home for High Milers
Web Site Gives Honda Owners Opportunity to Share High Mileage Milestones

01/03/2008 - TORRANCE, Calif.,- 100,000 miles - the number of miles it would take to drive around the circumference of the equator four times and the minimum number of miles driven to be part of Honda's new "Honda Mile Makers" Web site. The Mile Makers Web site, officially launched in late November, is a forum where owners of Honda vehicles that have traveled 100,000 miles and beyond can tell their unique stories, post photos of their vehicles, and read about other high mileage Honda success stories.
One of the most impressive high mileage posts is from an independent contractor from Las Vegas who drives his Civic Hybrid 10,000 miles a month. Saying that he never expected his car to make it past the half-million mile mark, he has logged 595,000 miles. Another owner from Los Angeles who has driven 400,000 miles in his 1991 CRX posted a photo of his car and odometer and proudly states that he has effectively driven around the world sixteen times.
"It's a great place for Honda owners to show off their accomplishments and exchange stories," said Karen Kim of Honda's Interactive Marketing department, who worked on creating the site. "A lot of the entries are very heart warming and a true testament to Honda's reliability and durability."

The Honda Mile Makers Web site can be found at http://automobiles.honda.com/mile-makers/ .

The Honda Mile Makers Club.

Surpassing a mileage landmark is no small feat. And itís as much about the devoted driver as it is about reliability and care. Itís a shared journey: car and driver. And that journey is a ride worth sharing. So Honda has created a space where each Honda Mile Maker can pass on their own personal adventure when the odometer hits that mileage milestone. Honda Mile Makers is simply recognition of the passion, inspiration and dedication of these Honda drivers. And the loyalty, durability and reliability of the Hondas driven. Welcome to the club.

Honda would like to celebrate the 100,000-mile mark. Congratulations. And keep on driving. Because there are miles more to be made.

Wow, how dumb. For one, chevy has had a high-mileage club for silverados, check out www.chevy200k.com . Also, why does honda consider it a big deal to make it to 100k? Check out the chevy one, there are trucks with well over half a million miles, and a few with over a million!

A 100K website is ridiculous with today's vehicles. Cars are validated to at least 150K at the component/system level, and often much more at the platform level. Turbochargers (my previous job) were validated to hundreds of thousands of miles for the diesel Class 4-8 truck markets.

Automakers tout the "100K mile tuneup" interval and then they post a site to brag about hitting that milestone? Basically they are excited that the vehicle made it to its first scheduled "tuneup".

I think im gonna let my silverado go until 400k if it can (and I have alot of faith that it can). Once its done, im going to look at 07 silverados, or the new ford f-150 which should be out by then.

Your Chevy club is 800,000 short of Honda's, so I guess that's why the big deal. A million miles is a big deal, and I'm not even a Honda person.

I am hoping my civic hybrid makes it to 300000. It should. It runs like a top. Also LOVE the gas mileage. I am currently averaging 56 mpg in city driving.

Love to hear these stories of high mileage honda's.
Mine is just a baby at 45000 miles. Runs like a top though. Only thing that would improve honda's is a 1.0 diesel engine.
