Facts boys just facts –

Toilet is junk, they make junk and you buy and drive that junk. From the sissy boy tundra to the lipstick yuppie lexus (which is dead).

Oh almost forgot - Mullet heads and rednecks build ricers in America. Many of them live in California.

Hey 'Largeballs', why don't you check out the recalls on your typical GM car or truck. Might make you think a little differently about Toyota's recall history.

Racism in alive and well in American, as this headline clearly suggests. A minor flaw in the Yaris that has not hurt or killed anyone or damaged a single vehicle that I know of. Given the number of people killed a few years ago from high center of gravity SUVs that rolled after a tire blowouts, give me a Yaris, or any other small car, any day.

Large vehicles are safer than smaller vehicles. Physics prove this. You can’t argue with physics, at least I hope you can’t.

Further, where is the racism comment coming from?

mullet heads and rice burners build car in America. The term Rice burners has racist overtones.

Plus Toyota recalls even MORE Junk-1.3 million ORIENTAL headline The word ORIENTAL seems to be put in the head line for it's racist overtones.

The word Oriental is not racist; it’s no different than saying American. Rice burner or ricer refers to a Japanese import that is geared toward racing. Get this in your head and get it straight before popping off at the lip. PLEASE-

The words Oriental and rice burner is not needed to describe Toyota or cars built in Japan. Everyone knows that Toyota is a Japanese owned company and that the majority of Toyota's cars are made by the Japanese. So the term Oriental is not nessary and must have been put into the head line as a insult. Calling a car built in Japan a rice burner, refers to the employees of Toyota who eat more rice than Americans do. Eating rice all the time is viewed as a sign of being poor and rice burner is meant to be insulting. It like calling a Englishman a Beef Eater. Beef eating is viewed as a sin in the Hindu religion.

What amazes me the most is that you honestly do believe what you write, and that’s saddening. At any rate, ricer still refers to a Japanese vehicle geared toward racing and Oriental refers to the area of origination. Nothing has changed and unfortunately you don’t get to change it.

Truth be told, it depends on the context in which those terms are used---just like other expressions of that nature.
Under certain circumstances (ie, friendships, old boy racing circles, etc.)it isn't considered racial.
However, in these forums, where the context is usually confrontational or insulting, it is racist, because that was the user's intent.
I agree with the writer, above. It's correct to assume the intent here isn't friendly.

Assumptions are no good and often lead to blunder. You of all people should realize this with your legal background.

No assumption made in this instance.
In most, if not all uses of those terms in these discussions, the intent is quite clearly unfriendly, and intended only to denigrate those of oriental persuasion.
That fact, my friend, will stand any test of validity. All one needs to do is peruse any of these discussions.

It’s fair to say that we simply disagree. At any rate if you skim some of the titles of these threads you will find the word oriental and American or USA in some of the titles i.e. USA’s GM or America’s Ford etc. In that respect we could say the author may not have been racist and certainly one could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt the words are intended to be racist.

Sorry, but your analogy is based your watching too may TV lawyer dramas.
The context the words "Oriental, Riceburner, etc" are used herein will clearly pass the 'presumption of racism' in any civil court.
In such matters, one does not have to prove 'beyond a reasonaable doubt', only a 'presumption'.
You personally may not think what you say as racist, but in the context you use it (like far too many others herein), your use of those terms can easily be found to be a 'presumption' of racism.
In other words, you're busted!
