Hey Einstein, most of the nickel used for US battery production comes from three sources in the US---two nickel mines, one in Oregon, and the other in Michigan, plus the rest is recycled from metals containing nickel.
Nickel from Canadian mines in Sudbury is used exclusively for production of stainless steel.
